Pros: Quaint piece of history. Has some beautiful character Terrie was wonderful to work with. Beautiful big bathtub, bathroom Nice, high end furnishings. Huge television Cute use of plants outside. I commend their efforts but need some help with organizing and planning renovations. I greatly appreciate their 10% discount they applied after Iccomplained about the elevator and that it wasn't what I was told.

Cons: first irritation was feeling like John, the owner, was not honest about the elevator. He told me 3 weeks ago that the elevator was totally done and fixed. He said they were just waiting on the inspector to give it the final approval. I was bringing my guy here for his birthday. He's 71 and I'm disabled so the 26 steps up really got my hip aggrevated. The elevator is not fit for man nor beast, with horrible walls and floor. Although I saw someone getting a ride in it. See photos. Was told they had the walls up and the wall covering fell down. Someone doesn't know what they are doing. Get a professional. Legally they can't use it but they do make exceptions. Not handicap accessible at all. Light fixtures still not done in our room even though we were told our room was finished. No easy fire excape, see the view from our windows. Room sparsely furnished, no desk or luggage rack, only one bedside table. Room freezing No phone so when tv didn't work, had to go back down those stairs to the front desk and back again. 178 stair steps our first night. Not a single chair in room. Refrigerator not even plugged in but turns out that the frig made terrible clunking and crashing noises that kept waking me up. Ice machine laying in hallway in pieces. No phone to call desk when TV didn't work. Remodeling doesn't look professional, shades were hung one inside window frame and the other on outside of frame. It's a DIY that is not working. Too many areas started and not finished. Guess they have been at it for years. Not planned out well as with electrical sockets that are only half there. There's damage to new walls with paint gouged off. When done it will be worth it but it's not worth over $100 a night to me so I won't be back. They are just starting the honeymoon suite. I think they should finish what they have started before moving on. Open holes in hallway for electrical work. This would be a good project for The Profit tv show to take on. An awning over the front would enhace the curb appeal. Photos start with stairway, then some of elevator before doing room, hallway ice machine in pieces on...

The Rundle Suites Hotel is an amazing work in progress, converting a historic older hotel into an amazing modern hotel. The rooms we stayed in were definitely 5 star rooms. They were completely redone and of similar quality to Home 2, My Place, or Best Western plus. New floor coverings, top of the line furniture, upscale sheets on the beds, special lighting, beautiful tile, huge TV, microwave, small refrigerator, hair dryer, even a separate wine cooler, very comfortable mattress, large desk to work at, ie a very nice, spacious room with all amenities and very clean! What is lacking 5 star ranking is the lobby and elevator. They are not up to speed with the rooms. Hence my overall ranking of 4. The staff were VERY helpful and attentive, but the front desk doesn't seem to be staffed 24/7. But they are available and responsive via a phone call to a number posted at the front desk. The only problem I has was my cell phone provider had spotty coverage in Glasgow. (This could be remedied by phone at the front desk.) I feel the Rundle is going to be an amazing property and already probably has the nicest rooms in Glasgow. I look forward to seeing the progress next time I am back! Bonus: they had a conference room right off the lobby we were able to rent for a four hour meeting. This worked out very well for...

Our room was small, comfortable and modestly furnished but it was very clean, which was the most important thing! The historic property was charming, and I was delighted to find it (during my online planning) in this area where lodging options are limited. The property has so much character, and it is obvious that the owners are putting a lot of work into caring for it, including continuing to make improvements and upgrades to the building. Pros: very comfortable bed, great shower, coffee/tea/water station (including microwave and paper plates&napkins) at a well-organized station in the hallway. Cons: small areas in our room were not quite finished (short plumbing pipes sticking out of the wall on the other side of the bathroom wall), small hole in the drywall behind the nightstand. Also, we had forgotten to ask about the fitness room and the steam bath when we checked in, and the young woman who checked us in didn’t mention those amenities. I would love to have seen those areas. However, she and the owner/manager were both quite helpful in providing information on local restaurants when we asked—- that was great! Overall we were very pleased with our stay in this hotel, and would definitely stay here again if we ever return...
