This Idaho State Park is beautifully maintained. Most of the sites are shaded with mature trees. The sites are level and each site has power and water. There are well maintained dump stations in the park.

I found the staff to be friendly and responsive. The power pedistal at my site was damaged by the previous occupant, so I was offered an upgraded site while they made repairs. I chose to keep the site and power was restored shortly afterward.

There are two camping loops in the park. I stayed in the upper loop (site 3), which was quite spoacious, as are all of the sites in this loop. The sites are paved, but the pavement is getting a little tired. Still, the sites are remarkably level.

The lower loop's campsites are closer together. They all have upgraded power pedistals and are well paved. There are a few huge pull-thru sites in this loop. The lower campground is the perfect place for large family gatherings or group camping events.

Overall, the park is very quiet, although you can hear the rumble and horn of a train in the distance, especially at night. It's not loud enough to disturb or even wake you. I love the sound of distant train horns anyway.

The park is just off of I-84 but you cannot hear any traffic at all even at night. It's very peaceful.

Right next door is the Y-Knot Winery/Golf Course/RV Park. If you stay here, be sure to check them out too. There is a foot path to the winery from the state park.

Finally, kudos to the park staff and volunteers. The park is well maintained and very clean, including the restrooms and free camper showers. Showers are $3 for...

This is a very nice campground, orderly and clean, good facilities. However, don't camp under the chinese elms, unless you want a thin layer of goo all over your gear in the morning. My impression of the administration was not so positive. I tent camped in space #44 on the evening of 15 May 2019. Made reservations a few days earlier and was irked by the hidden "reservation fee" when it came to the payment page. Oh well, I think, it will be worth it to ensure that I have a spot. Which, of course, I didn't. When I arrived an RV was in my reserved space. I tried to find the campground host, who was off-duty or otherwise unavailable. So I called the number on Idaho State Park website and was connected to a lady in customer service who was less than useless, she was condescending. She alternately told me that I wasn't listening to her (Sorry, I thought customer service was supposed to listen to me...) and berated me for not anticipating that my reserved campsite would be in use by someone else and asking for a refund a full two days in advance of my arrival (???) Apparently, no power on earth could change that firm but inexplicable policy, and I would just have to pay for the site whether I used it or not. In the end, I did what I should have done in the first place: Talked to the possessors of the campsite, who were very nice and moved so that I could use my reserved place. But the whole experience left me with a bad feeling for a system that seems to care little for individual needs after the credit card has...

Most recent stay was June August 18, 2019 We camp in a Little Rig "Tear Drop” style RV w/o toilet or shower plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area||||We reserved site 82 (a long pull-thru site) through Reserve America, an easy process; had a 30 amp electrical and water hookup. There is a dump station on site at the top of the hill as you exit the park. Campground set up in an oval loop with rv sites on the outside and restroom/shower building in the middle – easy access. Green grass and shade trees everywhere, an open and airy campground with ample room between sites – no crowding here. Well cared for, grass was cut, trees provided ample shade, paved roadways and site pads. Each site has a nice aluminum picnic table and fire pit and all sites good sized – a very relaxing atmosphere. RV dump station at the top of the hill when exiting is easy to access and use. Restroom/shower building needed some TLC and showed its wear lacking general maintenance. It was clean inside but it ended there. Would have rated this park a 5 star but because of the lack of maintenance in the restroom/shower building it...

We decided to stay in one of the cabins, which are very similar to a KOA cabin. I thought the overall price was high at almost $100. That was with an Idaho discount, and I didn't have to pay the extra entrance fee to the park because I pre-purchased a State Park sticker. The cabin had a working heater and air-conditioner. It also had lights and plenty of outlets. I would suggest that if you have back problems that you bring a blow-up mattress because the mattresses do not have any support. The cabin has a nice front porch. We sat on it and watched the Milky Way pass by in the night. The bathrooms were clean. They had showers and heaters. You might bring some extra toilet paper though because the men's room didn't have any. The building is also well lit at night. The camping spaces have lots of trees for shade. There is lots of grass. Ample parking for one vehicle. And each site has a nice picnic table. I was there primarily to take some photos of the Milky Way and was very happy that all the lights in the parking lot at the Museum were turned off so I could get a true dark sky experience. We will definitely be coming back.

Just a one night stay on a long RV trip headed North. The small town of Glenns Ferry has a gas station, small market for essentials and a Napa auto parts store though they close at 5 daily. The Park itself is very shady, plenty of space between sites, centrally located shower/bath house and several dump stations; sites have water and electric only. The Park advertises an overnight fee of $36 for a site but for some reason we paid $47. I mention that solely to point out you pass two Y Knot RV Parks, managed by the Y Knot Winery and you pay $45 for a full hookup. If I returned, I would stay at the Winery and ask to a site in the older section simply because that section had more shade trees. There is a walking path from the Park to the Winery. We enjoyed wine tasting and a nice dinner and they were very accommodating as I had my Service Dog with me. Restaurant deserves 5 Stars, the Park only 4 but that's solely due to the lack of sewer at the sites.
