Funny that guests have to sign a paper upon check-in that states that because this is a "Non-Smoking hotel", there will be a financial penalty if they are smoking in their room. Then, the first night I am there, I smell tobacco smoke coming into my room. I go out down the hall and the hall is reeking of smoke, the front doors to the lobby are propped open, and the front desk staff reeks of smoke. I let her know that when people smoke by the front door which is left open, the smoke goes into the building and down the hall into the rooms. I told her (Dawn) that I see she was the only in this location and I saw her smoking at the front door with the door open when I checked in. All she could say was that she was sorry. (So basically the hotel is a smoking hotel!!!). I slept with a towel stuffed beneath my door. I told someone who appeared to be the owner in the morning and all he could say was that "Oh, we are trying to get them to smoke away from the door." Please note that even after I told the owner about the smoke, I come back to the hotel later in the day, and the door is again propped open and a customer just finished smoking on the bench across from the front doors. They just don't care!!! Now, let's address the "free breakfast." All the website state "complimentary hot breakfast including Belgian waffles and egg and sausage, yogurt, cold and hot cereals." There were no eggs, no sausage, no waffles, no hot cereals, and only 3 yogurts in the frig first thing in morning. Again, I approached the owner and said this is not the breakfast portrayed on the sites and there is only 1 yogurt left in frig at this time. He did not replenish any of the products and all he could say about the false portrayal was that they just acquired the hotel. He also conveyed that "no Super 8s" provide that kind of hot breakfast. I said, then take it off all the sites because this is why I chose Super 8 over other bargain hotels. I feel duped!!! Lastly, the room itself was in bad need of repairs. There was no outlet cover on one of the outlets (quite an electrocution hazard), one of the towel bars was falling off, there were dark black stains on the carpet, and a cigarette burn on the bathtub. Do not trust those computer generated photos on the website!!! This place is...
Read moreValue, value, value!! This place is slowly being renovated to that of a La Quinta or Holiday inn. The price is dirt cheap but our rooms (111/113) were like the hundred+ dollar rooms in the area like the La Quinta my brother-in-law was staying at. There are minor cosmetic imperfections if you are looking for them, but overall it is very very clean and in excellent repair. Most of the employees are very willing to help and respond quickly to any problems. The most important thing to me are the mattresses. These are exceedingly comfortable I had some of the best nights sleep here at super eight. They must be new mattresses because they have very lofty pillow tops, no sagging and support firmly. The pillows were various squishy types, smelled fresh and were extremely comfortable. All our linens were absolutely clean, crisp and bright.
Stuff: Microwave, safe, larger (small) fridge, larger flat screen, USB ports on lamp base, desk, extra plugs on night stand.
They have an indoor (small) pool with a hot tub as well as an outside pool. Plus this place is dog friendly!!! I’ve stayed here several times and never heard one.
Cons: there is only one employee that I know of who is not fluent in English and needs to smile when speaking to women. He does work at the front desk and since he represents the business and makes the first impression too many customers, He needs to just say I’m sorry I am still learning the language and at least try and answer questions.
The manager, maintenance people and daytime front desk girl are all very nice, helpful, and friendly. Actually, the front desk girl is Amazingly awesome! She is a keeper. I ran a large business at one point and I would have paid a girl like that a lot. She is excellent with people.
Other cons: yes, some things are dated. Like the sink is not granite and the floor has square tiles. There are small details that need repair here and there in each room. Our bathroom doorknob was broken, but the shower was brand new and everything else was clean and well cared for.
I say at 51$/ night..... your crazy not to stay here. Don’t let the low price fool you. Days Inn are usually nasty, but this isn’t. Bring your swim suit, dogs, and workout clothes because this place is a...
Read moreI wouldn't stay here again if it were free. I always look at reviews and try to find the best options for the best price. The things that matter to me are that they are clean and comfortable. After we paid for the room, we walked outside to get our bags. On the way back inside, the receptionist was standing outside smoking, and she made the comment that it was so hot behind the desk. Even with the fan on her, it felt like it was still 80°. I thought that was an odd thing to say at the time. When we got into the room, the thermostat said 83°. We turned the A/C on, and when we tried to turn the TV on, the back fell off of the remote, and we couldn't get the cable to work. After my bf going downstairs, the receptionist taped the back on the remote and told him how he could get the TV to connect to cable. The room didn't start to cool down until around 4:30-5am. We both slept terribly because we kept waking up from the heat, and it made me physically sick. There were only 2 towels and 2 washcloths (one of which was sitting on the counter like someone had thrown it there). There was no coffee pot in the room as it's advertised. My bf complained to the front desk about the heat in the middle of the night as well as check out. They did nothing. It was so hot in the lobby and the hallways. They couldn't have had the A/C on at all. I think that's why our room had so much trouble cooling off. Walking out of the lobby to the vehicle, it was actually cooler outside (and this was the week of 100°+ temps). The receptionist who checked us in was nice. The man working overnight and girl rhe next day both didn't care at all and didn't so much as offer an apology. It would have been a more comfortable night to sleep in my vehicle. I gave the room 2 stars because I didn't see any bugs. I feel that keeping the building in extreme heat is a...
