Update: I'm afraid I am going to have to ding them some. Last time there I ordered Kung Pao chicken. Now there are obviously variations. The original dish is chicken, hot peppers, scallions and sauce. In America we throw in peanuts, red and green peppers and sometimes celery. At this place they throw in mass quantity of broccoli plus baby corn and snow peas. Now, I like broccoli, but it totally undoes this dish, which should be tender chicken against crunchy chunks. Sorry, an epic fail. The ingredients were all fresh and tasty, just out of place.
The orange peel beef was inedible, all breading and no discernable beef. Also not spicy at all.
Their egg roll was probably the best I have ever had, very crispy with no grease. I wish they had house made mustard to go with it.
Was nice to find. The good: Their tap water is first rate. Must be filtered or a really good supply. Sounds odd to say, but it affects the overall tastes: The rice was 100 out of 100, vegetables were carefully selected and expertly prepared. Salt level was moderate and I tasted no added MSG. Best tofu with garlic sauce ever. The Lo mein was good, but would be better if it were Chowed in the wok some more. (Make it a little smoky.) Prices are mostly moderate, though you can run it up. Portions size is good. The not so good: The dumplings seemed pre-packaged/frozen. They are trying to walk the line between authentic and American style cuisine. There are many authentic dishes that are popular in the US, such as Peking duck, cold noodles with sesame, Kung Pao chicken as examples. And don't put cabbage in the twice cooked pork! Or give us a choice of authentic or American style.
They brought us donuts for dessert which...
Read moreBased on the reviews on Google Maps and Yelp, my wife and I decided to give this restaurant a try. We have had a tough time finding a really good Chinese/Asian restaurant. This restaurant is by far the best we have found within a forty minute drive of our home. We were very impressed with how clean, immaculate, and spacious the dining area was. We were told that we could sit anywhere we wanted and were sat immediately. We started our meal with wonton soup and steamed pork wontons appetizers. The wontons were light and delicious. For our main dishes, we had the Mongolian beef and General Tsos chicken. Both dishes were excellent. Not too salty and the right amount of heat. The menu has a good variety to choose from but not overwhelming. You can also choose from a combination meal that includes soup, an egg roll, rice, pork, chicken, or seafood, or you can choose a platter that includes just meat and rice. Prices are very reasonable and portions are very generous. We highly recommend...
Read moreThis was my first time ordering here and I’m pleasantly surprised! It is a bit far from my house but 100% worth the trip. The person who greeted me and gave me my food may have been new and a bit unsure but nice nonetheless. They gave me an extra egg roll which I not only appreciated but devoured (roast pork egg roll) and the wonton soup contained 2 large dumplings inside that were so soft and not hard or chewy/gummy. Just the right amount of soup as well some restaurants I feel give you entirely too much soup. I also ordered a roast pork fried rice and Hunan chicken with white rice and requested no mushrooms, which I appreciate the chef abiding by my note and like I said before everything was very hot, ready when promised and...
