If I could rate this hotel a zero I would. We just needed an overnight stay, but this hotel is not up to Hilton standards at all. I used to work in hospitality for years amongst the Hilton brands all the way up to senior management before I left the career field. Hilton used to expect 100% customer satisfaction across all their brands, that may have changed, but I’m pretty familiar with what is required to get a room ready for each guest so that it is up to standards. First off when checking in the gal at the front desk wasn’t overly friendly or accommodating. We asked for an additional pillow for our daughter to sleep on since the pillows in the room were so flat and soft you literally needed two to get comfortable (more on the pillow issues in a bit, it gets worse), but were told there were no extra pillows available in the hotel. Thankfully we brought our daughter’s mini travel pillow with us so she had something to use for the night. Secondly, upon entering the room it was an ice box because the thermostat was set to 65. I get it has been hot outside, but not everyone likes to walk into an icebox. Thirdly, the cleanliness of the room was subpar. The shower had mold on the outside ledge. One of the bedside tables was sticky and had something spilled all the way down the side and on to the floor, the bed was NOT CLEAN AT ALL!! There were makeup stains on pillow cases and stains on the bottom sheet. It looked like they didn’t change the sheets between guests. We tried to contact the front desk, but no one was available to assist after multiple phone call attempts to the front desk. We ended up having to sleep on top of the sheets and without adequate pillows. If everything else wasn’t booked up in the area and it wasn’t 11pm trying to get settled, we would have packed up and left. We have stayed in many hotels, and this bar far was the worst hotel ever. We will see what the morning brings, but I don’t have high hopes.
Update: The morning wasn’t much better. The breakfast was well stocked but the quality of the food wasn’t great. My daughter and I have food intolerances so we try to stick to fruit and maybe some eggs. The eggs looked like powder and the fruit was so bruised and brown it wasn’t edible. Further more the gal at the desk in the morning had such a horrible attitude. She looked as if I bothered her rolling her eyes as she got up from sitting on her phone and then kept sighing as she apparently was having issues with the computer system slamming down the mouse. No apologies for the delay, no asking how our stay was, no good morning, nothing from her. After five minutes or so she finally gave me a receipt. I was going to complain about the stay, but after such a bad night and her awful attitude I was not about to get into details and cause a scene because she surely would have caused one. We will not be returning to this hotel or any Hilton brands if this is the new...
Read moreThe staff was friendly when we checked in but the overnight and morning staff weren't so much. The room was clean we thought until we wiped the bathroom floor after a shower and the white towels were black. There isn't much room for the luggage, no luggage rack and the "closet" is a hanging rod for the clothes in the open on top of the refrigerator. My suitcase opens and both sides have clothing and the only place to put it was on top of the refrigerator with the hanging clothes above. It was cumbersome. There's no dresser and only one full bed side table. On my side of the bed it's about a 12" round table that I hardly had room to keep my nighttime stuff on. My phone kept falling off. The free breakfast isn't until 10, but until they run out. We came in at 9:40 and everything was practically gone. The little oatmeal that was left was cold. When we told the staff member and she seemed to be annoyed and turned the knob up. We then discovered that it wasn't plugged in. so we microwaved it. There were no bagels left, the pancakes were really the only good thing. If there had been a line for them it would have been difficult since it takes quite a long time for the machine to make them. We ended up going out to breakfast. The signs on the mirror in the bathroom are conflicting. One says they will clean every other day. The other one on the other side of the mirror said they are saving the environment and if we want the room cleaned to let them know. We didn't do either and they cleaned our room. So that seems pointless. The bed was made, sort of, and the extra blanket that I had asked for was left in a clump on the bed and the bedspread was wrinkled. Shotty at best. The blanket that i asked for wasn't a blanket but a thin piece of cloth. It was cold the weekend we were there and the heater didn't work the first night so we were pretty uncomfortable. It seemed to be working when we woke up do we didn't let anyone know. Overall I was very disappointed with a Hilton product. I had booked for my boyfriends birthday and we don't plan to return if we can find something else in the area. This site won't let me...
Read moreIt is currently 0004 and I am sitting in a room on the 3rd floor of the Tru in Greensboro.||There is the strongest smell of synthetic Marijuana that I have ever smelled in my adult life wafting through the hallway and, even worse, coming under our door and into our room. I was awakened by it and it has caused me to feel nauseated and triggered a migraine.||When I called down to the front desk, I was told that there was nothing that the desk attendant could do, because she was the "only one there, and (we're) not allowed to leave the desk." To have a person working alone, and the hotel not having at least one person acting as security is completely astonishing to me!! I do not feel safe in this hotel, knowing that illegal actions are taking place, and there isn't even a security guard! ||When I asked if there was ANYTHING she could do, she suggested that she could move us (punishing the victim......gee, thanks). When I asked if smoking synthetic cannabis was still illegal in GA, she said it was, and I suggested calling the police to come and investigate. ||She immediately brushed that suggestion off and told me to "Have a good night."||We have been Hilton Honors members for the better part of 20 years, and have stayed at this particular hotel for at least the last 5 years, when we come down to visit my father for Thanksgiving or other times of the year. Given the unwillingness of the overnight employee to do ANYTHING to end the sickening, illegal activity that is currently taking place, as I type this review, means that we will likely move hotels tomorrow, if at all possible, and tonight will be our last stay at this hotel. Whether we will remain Hilton Honors Members, or ever stay at another Hilton property,...
