New Inn café, serves a variety of coffee drinks and pastries. Unfortunately (at least on a Saturday morning) both coffee and pastry were terrible. I'm not sure if it was leftover from Friday's service, but the drip coffee tasted stale and bitter. My wife's latte was the same despite being made while we waited. Her berry scone was bone dry and way too sweet -- drizzle on top. My maple bacon scone was extremely salty, dry, and otherwise tasteless. A disappointing experience to say the least -- regardless of the outstanding reviews we heard from some of our friends. We had to toss half of our pastry and most of our coffees. Too bad. We were looking forward to a pleasant lingering over our petit dejeuner. On top of the food and drink, the café dining room itself was very cold with an uninviting, stark interior -- no pictures, table linens, or other service ware. This time however it seemed like the cleaning staff had taken a pass on making sure the room was cleaned to even minimal standards. Since it was basically a twelve hour stay overnight and the friend I went to see was moving out of state and I will not be staying there again it wasn't even worth mentioning.
