The street names on the Google map, which is on the hotel website do not match the names of the street signs in town. The “street”, Frog Landing, which is their address is really more of a parking lot between businesses and has no street sign.|We had been emailed a room assignment and code to enter the room the day before our arrival but when we checked in were given keys to a different room. When questioned about the change and if the code they gave us was then still valid they could offer no reason for the change and the room we were given had regular old keys, no coded lock. It didn’t matter which room we were in but the confusion of changing it without mentioning it was inappropriate. |Our room was upstairs so it was hard to get luggage up the rickety stairs (they need a good sanding as were splintery). |Sheets weren’t deep enough for the mattress so they kept bunching up. The door to the bathroom would not close and latch. |There were only a few squares of toilet paper left on the roll. Finally found one on the “closet” shelf in another room—you’d be out of luck if you were on the toilet and needed it.|Only one very tiny piece of soap by the sink was provided—none in the tub/shower so if you didn’t think to take it to the shower you’d have to get out to go find the soap—very inconvenient. I’ve never been to a hotel where there wasn’t also a bar of soap in the tub/shower.|They had a shade to pull down on the window and it kept some light out but not all. The black out curtains were floor length and covered the a/c-heater unit so you couldn’t close the curtains and have the A/C on as it would block the vents. You had to choose darkness or coolness. They need shorter drapes.|The room had two chairs but no table or desk.|They have a nice “deck” with chairs, fire pits etc. but the negative was it was right outside the room door and people would smoke there and there were “party” lights turned on at night.|Pros: water was hot and had a good flow, towels were nice, the Hershey Nuggets left were a nice touch, the room lights were brighter than most hotels, adequate plugs on the...
Read moreI stayed at the Hagerman Valley Inn, in room 228 a couple of days ago and forgot to write a review. Hagerman Valley Inn should not be a two star. The two stars I've stayed in offer much more than this place does. No breakfast or anything like that.
The Room itself was "OK". The first thing that caught my eye was the huge gap under the doorway where anything creepy crawly could come inside and hang out with you. Also, the noise of people running up and down the stairwell was pretty excessive.
The room was well furnished, maybe a bit to well furnished, as it was a little cluttered and difficult to get around in if you had several bags. The next thing is the shower. The hot water is hot but not for very long! If you're used to hotel showers that last for a while you're in for a surprise when this one runs cold on you after a bit. I didn't time it, mind you.
All that said, the room itself was clean, if a bit dated, and everything in it worked. It has USB ports for your electronic goodies and a full sized Kureg coffee maker and large cups to match it. Very nice.
The location is another thing. It's in the middle of nowhere and your food options are limited to a single diner next door unless you want to drive down the street after settling in again. The diner isn't bad but that's for another review.
Overall, I've definitely stayed in better, even for the class that it's in. Still, if you're in a pinch and aren't looking to spend more than $130 on a room and don't mind that it's a little run down? This place should do the...
Read moreI absolutely am staying here again. My first time was this weekend and we stayed in the suite with the hot tub and not everything was perfect to my standards the first night so when I contacted the staff and the owners they not only dropped what they were doing that day but came right away ended whatever it took to fix it and took however much time to make sure I was satisfied. I found out later that the owner had plans to go to church that night with his family and literally kept doing that just to help me and meet my needs! Talk about the best service ever! That's the kind of service that you don't come across anymore or even ever nowadays! I honestly cannot say enough about this place because I love the hot tub, I love the effort they make to try to accommodate you and your family and the references they try to give when you ask about dining or attractions nearby. There's not enough time in the day to talk about their front desk lady Courtney! She was so personable and so kind and easy to talk to you I just fell in love with her and so did my family! We will definitely be coming back and Courtney is just awesome!!!! 😍😍
I also forgot to mention how great the restaurant is next door! Their food was awesome both times we went there. So was the pasta place down the street that they recommended! Such a cool place to visit and the hotel is such a inviting family quiet experience that I really am so glad I decided to go on vacation this weekend! Thank you Haggerman Vally...
