Last year for Christmas, me and my wife were driving from El Paso to chicago to see our family for the holidays. I’m in the military and hadn’t seen my family for a while, and I was excited to finally see them for the holidays. On our way our car broke down with repair costs more than we could afford in a town called Hamlin. A small town we had never seen before. The tow guy told us the only hotel in town was this one. We didn’t have much choice and we checked in. As the days went by we were just trying to cut our losses and just go back to El Paso. But through those days the manager did everything he could to help us. He drove me 45 mins to the nearest car rental spot to where I got rejected because I wasn’t 21. On the way back he tried to calm me down, he even bought me lunch. All this completely for free. Even let me stay a night free of charge while one of my family members came to pick me up. He was so willing to help. Where else can you find that kind of service? Don’t think I’ll ever forget my stay at the pied piper inn and I definitely will never forget what the manager did for me. Thank you for helping me see my family for...
Read moreGreat location and it's a gud hotel for a place to flop for a night or 2. No phones in the rooms and if u hav service animals, hav ur papers ready at time of check in. For $80 a night it cud been alot betr. $25 deposit due at time of check in n given back at checkout (if u paid cash) so that's a plus. Friendly Staff but cud use more training and experience in hotel management and day to day operations. More set up for rodeo people, Truckers needing a night out of the truck, or anyone not caring about extra amenities. Room had on lamp between beds with 1 USB port and only one plug by the beds. Might be a gud idea to hav an extension cord, power strop, or power tower wen stating here. Was gud while we waited for keys to our home. Recommend for people who love simple stays. Ther is no food delivery in Hamlin so you'd hav to go get something to eat before 930pm. Dairy Queen (closes at 10pm), Cash Savers, and a couple restaurants near by. Be mindful to follow Speed Limits wen going...
Read moreThe Pied Pepper Inn is on one of the "main drags" and fairly easy to find. The sign is not huge, though.
Driving up to the Pied Piper Inn (Motel) is, honestly, simple and not very exciting. But you start to look around outside and it is immediately very noticeable that the entire property is freshly painted (including the metal barriers! ) and spotless. Even the parking lot is spotless, no cigarette butts, trash, nothing - this is the cleanest parking lot I have every seen!
The checking in process was extremely quick, easy and painless. The Owners were very friendly and helpful. Their prices are very, very reasonable, the second cheapest motel we have stayed in during a week of driving/ traveling. They have smoking and non-smoking rooms (wOw!) and they are pet friendly.
The inside of the room does not disappoint. We are staying in a single King Sized bed room. We were relieved that they had King Sized beds!! Everything is neat, clean, freshly painted AND even smelled...
