My husband and I stayed here this past weekend and I can honestly say we’ll never go back. We had stayed here in the past a few times without issue but now it seems like service and the motel itself is just going down hill. I received my email confirmation mid-June when I made the reservation and it clearly stated we’d be on the 2nd floor and I specifically requested the room with the nice ocean view, which my email confirmation also stated. When we got to the motel, there was already some other guests in that room and we were given another room on the bottom floor. I was certain we had the upstairs room but didn’t say anything because I didn’t bring my email confirmation email with me (nor do I have internet access via phone to bring it up as proof). And I have a sneaky suspicion they were “given” that room as a special favor because they just happened to check in before us and probably didn’t like the location of the room they should have been in. So that was the first thing that irritated me. We came back to our room later that evening after being at the beach most of the day wanting to take a nice hot shower, and there was no hot water. We had to let the shower run for 10 minutes before the water started to even warm up… at that time, the office was closed so I couldn’t even go to the desk to tell them. So after waiting 10-15 minutes for hot water, we were finally able to get cleaned up. Then around 10pm, we were online via their internet service and it stopped working. Once again, no one we could tell about this issue since it was after hours. When we checked out the following day, we still hadn’t been able to connect to their internet. I don’t have a mobile smart phone either so it’s not like I am on a phone trying to get internet, we had a laptop we brought with us. Oh, and I didn’t even mention our “newly remodeled room” didn’t have a smoke alarm or sprinkler. The rooms look nice when you first go in, but they are rather deceiving. My suggestion is, if you are trying to save a few bucks by staying here, it’s really not worth it. Spend a little more to stay somewhere that actually seems to care about their guests. Read moreI was mildly put off by the manager calling for payment in advance, and several reminders there are no refunds. When we arrived no staff was on site and the key was left in the open room. The room was minimalistic but cute and very clean, The first issue that we noticed was the room was wet and damp. It never dried out the whole 4 days we were there. Getting into the damp beds at night reminded me of camping in a wet sleeping bag. My bed had a broken box spring, so the mattress sagged in the middle giving the mattress a hammock effect. Sleeping in this bed made my body so sore I couldn’t wait to get back to my own bed at home. There are definitely not enough working electric plugs in the room which led to arguments of who was going to charge their phones, and I did see some sketchy electrical work in the room . The office or staff are only available 9-2 daily and there is no room service, we weren’t aware and ran out of towels and toilet paper the 2nd day. After we figured it out a very polite person did bring us more towels. The location is very good across from the beach, the ocean view from the balcony is a little exaggerated, you can see a glimpse between 2 large houses. Overall, The grounds were nice and the building was very welcoming and clean. Guest service was a little wonky, the beds were terrible. Read moreI've been coming here now or a couple of years my family enjoys our time there I would agree with the bathrooms need overhaul but the staff is great Julie and Kelly are wonderful hosts,always enough of towels it's great that they take pets but I would like to see a better smoking area its kind of rude for owners to stick their guests by the trash to smoke .....
New review as of 4/24/18 Our last stay of July 2017 was disappointing... Had to use a wrench to turn on shower... Bathroom sink had a broken faucet...carpets were stained....the kitchen window could not be opened without a wrench.... Two beautiful sliding doors could not be opened because screens were ripped..... Lever doors on closet broken.....its to bad because Jeff is a very nice guy...good intentions on his part but he doesn't follow through on jobs that need to be done.....when trying to call this past year since sept to cancel this years reservation I was told by kelly the office staff we won't get back our deposit of 200.00 dollars . I will be reporting this to the better business bureo....in new Hampshire law states if service's not rendered consumer is entitled to refund and this includes reservations.... I hate to go that route but left with no other option...I did ask Kelly to have Jeff call me back to discuss this matter .....we'll wait and see if Jeff does...
