2/11/2020. We stayed here for our vday date since we work the weekend and needed time away from the busy family life of parenthood with 2 small boys. I am going to give pros and cons to why it has 3 stars.
Pros. Parking garage, it has a beautiful old time look to it. It had a comfy bed with clean sheets and comfy pillows. A hot shower. We rented the small standard queen room but because of an issue they bumped us up to a king suit. So, for those of you I reccomend spending the extra for a king suite because you have more room to breathe since the queen room is seriously tiny. The queen room was probably give or take 10 x12 in space with a tiny bathroom.. The hotel is also clean with no nasty chemical smells and it is also warm if you are seriously cold like me. My boyfriend who is warm all the time said it was to hot..The king suite has a sink, fridge and microwave and living room area so its a lot bigger. Staff was friendly, but as for someone who has worked 14yrs in the retail/lodging industry I have always made it my priority to greet my customers, whether they are checking in, or a simple good morning going to breakfast. We never got that. We asked for towels for our room and the lady told us where to get them ourselves...The breakfast was okay, only good thing was the waffles and the yogurt.
Cons: we were upgraded to a bigger room because we found out that the A/c and heat in the smaller queen room cannot be adjusted. It is set on what the standard hotel temp is on. Thats a no go for us since we cant sleep with it being hot. We put a do not disturb on our door for the morning room service, but guess who knocked loudly anyways and ignored the sign... The heat/ac does not work real well in the suite.... it has a mind of its own. So during the middle of the night it did not want to work and we woke up to a very chilly room. There was no extra blankets in the room and that was sad since we had just 2 sheets and a very thin comforter. The breakfast really lacked. We had to ask for more orange juice. No fruit except a whole apple and it was to iffy for me to want to bite into it . A lot of the breakfast was dry stale bread, the omelets were burnt and cold, The sausages were a tad cold. I can understand if it was a busy day but it was a Tuesday in Feburary.
It isnt a bad hotel, but i feel like it is a work in progress. Maybe the restuarant is better with food, but we were told its closed..
But i give at least 3 stars for the friendly check in, even though we had to repeat ourselves because they kept getting out last name wrong. Its not a hard name, but i let that slide because some people are hard of hearing. And because the bed was nice, and the...

Read moreStayed here when my step dad worked there and it was absolutely wonderful. My fiancé and I had a great experience… however my most recent stay here was absolutely terrible. Brenda at the desk was extremely rude and disrespectful anytime we asked anything. We asked for a manager several times before she would do anything. Room service/cleaning was absolutely terrible. They came in once during the 3 nights we were there. We had to ask for clean towels, and again Brenda was rude about the situation. We asked for cleaning supplies since room service didn’t come in & we were told they didn’t have anything like that there. They charged my card double the amount for the stay and then when questioned about it we were told initially that there was nothing they could do about it and claimed it was my banks fault and not theirs. It was eventually fixed after we had to asked them about it numerous times. Brenda at the desk also yelled at us and become very disorderly when she was questioned on why she couldn’t provide the services offered to the guest or answer the lobby phone nor would she come to the desk to assist guest when they approached but rather she sat in the side office playing on her personal phone. The over night lobby clerk was absolutely wonderful and very kind, we did not get her name but she was amazing and helpful, she apologized for our bad experience and coworkers lack of professionalism. It’s a beautiful hotel, but Brenda at the desk ruins any enjoyable aspect of this hotel. Do not recommend staying here if she’s on shift or expect any kind of welcoming experience from her or...
