This was my second time staying at Lakeview Lodge, and I only stayed a second time because there are not a lot of other options. We love the Trail of the Coeur D’Alenes, and try to ride some of it each year. ||The good: Very laid-back vibe. Easy reservations and check-in. Lovely view of the lake from the balcony of each room. Seemed clean enough, although with Covid-19, I brought my own cleaning wipes, too.||The not-so-good: Very expensive for a basic motel room, but again, not a lot of options in town. This is the only motel. There are some B&B’s, but full-up in biking season, usually. Our room had a very old, funky smell. I left the patio door open all night because of it. The bed, at least mine, was WAY too soft - bad for the back.||||We like this little town, but the dining options are very limited. Mostly pizza, burgers and deep-fried everything. Not a salad or vegetable to be found, at least in my experience. But it is nice that everything is within walking distance.||Harrison could be a potential goldmine for the right restaurants and places to stay. There is a community marina, and lots of folks come by boat to enjoy the town. Not to mention many thousands of bicyclists! But I realize they are doing the best they can in Harrison in a seasonal industry. ||Oh, and by the way, many people there were not wearing masks or social distancing, although all the food workers EXCEPT the ice cream shop...
Read moreKathy was super nice at check-in and even offered to feed us dinner since it was super close to closing time for the only grocery store in town and a bike shop/restaurant (see separate review). She had to deal with a rather unfriendly bicycle rider checking in right when we walked in and totally kept her cool.|We stayed in room # 3; upon walking into the room the smell of an 'air freshener' totally overwhelmed me; we quickly unplugged it and opened the front and back door and let air flow through the room. |The room was very clean, the views over Coeur D'Alene amazing and it was very quiet. It is a much older hotel and could use some updating, but it's the location that sells it. Every room has a balcony overlooking the lake and the walking trail is a couple of minutes away. The bathroom is tiny and outlets are sparse. Coffee and tea are in the room. |The bed was very comfortable and it was really nice to have the balcony door open during the night and not use the A/C.|There is coffee and tea, as well as a couple breakfast cereals in the lobby in the morning and homemade scones, which are amazing (you order the flavor you want at check-in). |There is no ice machine for those of us who enjoy an adult beverage at night after the office closes at 5pm.|I think it is overpriced, but again, the location sells it and other than the terrible smelly thing, we...
Read moreThis is a great place for my family and me to stay when we go to Harrison. It's not fancy but it definitely has a lakeside lodge feel to it. It reminds me of the old lake cabin my grandparents used to have, a little worn down but cozy. There are a number of comfortable gathering places on the premises if you want to sit outside and visit with family and friends. The balconies on the back side of the rooms are nice for stepping out and admiring the view of the lake. I believe all the rooms have a mini fridge in them but at least one of the rooms upstairs has a kitchen with a refrigerator/freezer, oven/stove and sink. The upper level is not wheelchair accessible, however, so I haven't seen it. My family uses it to prepare meals for us though. It's great for extended stays. There is a wheelchair accessible room on the main floor if you need it. The lodge is high up away from the lake but it's not a long walk to get down to the beach. The path down to the water, where there is a boat launch, is a very steep hill with a lot of gravel. The gravel around the building can make it difficult to maneuver a wheelchair without assistance. The owners of the lodge are nice people who have always been...
