ROMANTIC & MAGICAL! We had our elopement ceremony on the lower lawn with Waipio Valley in the background. Absolute paradise, I'm so glad we chose Hale Kukui Orchard for our wedding 😊 The property was so gorgeous I could not stop taking pictures. Fresh fruit to pick while you wander. Daniel, the host and his doggies are wonderful, welcoming & great company. When he walked us into the cottage, I was speechless. The views are to die for. We even saw a family of whales on a few occasions. Coqui frogs sang me to sleep, and the waves crashing melted all my stress away. Can't wait to come back!

This was by far the most incredible experience of a stay on the big island. giving me and my family the perfect experience of the local life, beautiful, fresh fruit, and Breathtaking views. AND WATERFALLS!!! Not to mention waking up and picking fresh fruit in our very own orchard and seeing the lovely art galleries in Honokaa definitely an experience I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else, but Hale Kukui!

The place itself is incredibly beautiful. The sheets smell a bit like mildew, as if they were washed with no soap and kept in washer too long before put in a dryer. The views are gorgeous and the owners are friendly. If you have a problem with lizards (I don't) know that they run around in the building. :-) I would give the place 5 stars if the sheets and towels didn't smell like mildew.

This was a cool place to stay. The view you see online is indeed the view you get from your room (!) If you walk out through the orchard to the lookout you can get an even wider view of the cliffs and ocean. We stayed in the studio, it was the perfect size for a couple, plenty of room. It was rather humid (at least when we stayed in February) so be prepared for that. ||||There was something so relaxing about soaking in the tub (even w/out jets as others have mentioned). Nothing but that view and peace and quiet :)||Picking fruit from the orchard was a lot of fun and we had fresh juice every morning. And this is a small detail, but the coffee we were provided, whatever it was, was great.||||Really no negatives to say! This was a fun place to stay and a little different. We drove and explored a lot of the East side of the island as well as the Hilo area and waterfalls from here. We stayed here for three nights as part of a longer trip to the big island, and it worked out great. The nearby town Honoka'a (about a 10 or 15 minute drive I think) is small but laid back and friendly, it ended up being one of our favorite towns on the island. If you are planning a trip to the big island I would definitely recommend spending some time at Hale Kukui. It was a great value too, for the money you spend you really get...

Hale Kukui is a dream! Incredible property, w SPECTACULAR views!!! staying here is really all about the setting. we could have spent all day sitting on the bench overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the cliffs descending to the Waipio Valley. This is not a fancy resort with tons of amenities, so do not go there expecting this or you will be let down. It is, however, very comfortable and inviting. Our cottage (Orchard Studio) was well kept, well equipped, clean, functional, cozy and had an INCREDIBLE view!!! The kitchen is equipped to cook your own meals and there is a grill on the deck. We didn’t cook, but brought back food from a great restaurant in town (10-15 mins down the road) and ate on the deck watching the sunset.||||Paula and Dan a great hosts, there for whatever you need, but give you all the space and privacy you desire. We really enjoyed having a drink w Paula on the lawn outside the main house one evening. ||||The orchard is cute, and you are free to pick and eat whatever fruit is in season during your stay. We ate endless Starfruit. ||||Also….we got married at Hale Kukui during our 3 day stay, and it was a picture perfect spot for a...
