This was a cool place to stay. The view you see online is indeed the view you get from your room (!) If you walk out through the orchard to the lookout you can get an even wider view of the cliffs and ocean. We stayed in the studio, it was the perfect size for a couple, plenty of room. It was rather humid (at least when we stayed in February) so be prepared for that. ||||There was something so relaxing about soaking in the tub (even w/out jets as others have mentioned). Nothing but that view and peace and quiet :)||Picking fruit from the orchard was a lot of fun and we had fresh juice every morning. And this is a small detail, but the coffee we were provided, whatever it was, was great.||||Really no negatives to say! This was a fun place to stay and a little different. We drove and explored a lot of the East side of the island as well as the Hilo area and waterfalls from here. We stayed here for three nights as part of a longer trip to the big island, and it worked out great. The nearby town Honoka'a (about a 10 or 15 minute drive I think) is small but laid back and friendly, it ended up being one of our favorite towns on the island. Ā Ā Ā Read moreHale Kukui is a dream! Incredible property, w SPECTACULAR views!!! staying here is really all about the setting. we could have spent all day sitting on the bench overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the cliffs descending to the Waipio Valley. This is not a fancy resort with tons of amenities, so do not go there expecting this or you will be let down. It is, however, very comfortable and inviting. Our cottage (Orchard Studio) was well kept, well equipped, clean, functional, cozy and had an INCREDIBLE view!!! The kitchen is equipped to cook your own meals and there is a grill on the deck. We didnāt cook, but brought back food from a great restaurant in town (10-15 mins down the road) and ate on the deck watching the sunset.||||Paula and Dan a great hosts, there for whatever you need, but give you all the space and privacy you desire. We really enjoyed having a drink w Paula on the lawn outside the main house one evening. ||||The orchard is cute, and you are free to pick and eat whatever fruit is in season during your stay. We ate endless Starfruit. ||||Alsoā¦.we got married at Hale Kukui during our 3 day stay, and it was a picture perfect spot for a...
