Unfortunately, my group had a very negative experience while staying at one of the cabins. We booked a weekend for 9 people, some of us would be bringing our dogs along, and so we found this listing through Airbnb with its description being pet friendly. One day into our stay, we received a phone call from the manager who began the conversation enraged. What followed could be described as erratic at best and threatening at worst. Management entered into the conversation assuming evil and deceitful intent on our end, when in reality, the booking platform we used simply did not hold the capacity to collect the information and payment they needed for a pet fee. It should not be the job of customers to attempt to diffuse the rage of a business owner, but nonetheless, attempts were made to calmly discuss the miscommunication, but this was met with mocking and further rage. I would like to have compassion for whatever it was that triggered such a response in this woman, but I have truly never encountered someone who was so angry and so hateful toward another human being, especially as a business owner. It is my hope that this encounter has made clear for the business that they need to clarify their policies and procedures across the multiple booking platforms they use. I also hope that in the future, they enter into a misunderstanding not assuming the worst in the other, as they did with our group. Needless to say, I would not feel safe recommending this...
Read moreI was promised a "perfect" stay when we stayed here on my wedding weekend & it was far from it. They do not display any attention to detail, they only do the bare minimum. The front of the dishwasher was dirty, the heat/AC window units were dirty, the window over the kitchen sink needed cleaning and there were scuffs in the paint. These were all things that would be so easy to fix, but the owners don't seem to care enough about the property or their guests to do so. It definitely made me wonder what else they don't do. Be aware that the heat/AC window units are VERY loud. They will keep you awake in the bedrooms when they turn off & on all night long. They also muffle all conversations in the common areas. There is no central heat or air in any of the cabins, which is baffling considering how new they are. The bathroom for the secondary bedrooms was down a flight of stairs and not easily accessible in the night. Also, the plumbing squealed loudly when we showered, like a fire alarm. I received zero response when I inquired about it. It appears that they know it's a problem but aren't addressing it. The stair rail was dangerous, as you have to lean over the top step before you can grasp it. I would suggest staying at a hotel in Princeton nearby. It will save you money & you will sleep better! Also avoid the "Bear Claw" AirB&B nearby. My friends and I have had similar issues there with...
Read moreThere are a few things off about our experience. The cabin was lovingly made with the style of a hotel but the craftsmanship of a local handyman. It's distracting sometimes and there were larger issues.
I was part of a group and there were big problems with communication between the Airbnb listing and our group host.
As a guest this anxiety between management and our group leader was a huge distraction that really ruined my experience.
I didn't organize this trip or this stay. And I didn't want to be in the middle of the resulting argument. Apparently our group leader neglected to disclose the purpose of our group's stay which involved many many dogs. Well behaved pups. Management was understandably upset but was really nasty towards our group.
I don't know what I expected in the middle of WV. Maybe more professionalism from the business rather than waking up to a drama situation. I think the onus was on the business to treat our group's oversight with more respect.
I certainly didn't win in this situation. I paid for a subpar experience. Which was made worse with an ungracious dispute between two bad parties.
While the venue seems to offer a decent value just avoid dealing with management.
Again with the price I paid and the experience we had it wasn't worth it. I'm sure under ideal circumstances the business is better than middle...
