Plains Motel — Hotel in Holdrege

This is the third time that we have stayed at this hotel since 2011 and we have always enjoyed it and had a great experience. This time, we had our two kids with us (ages 3.5 years and 7 months), so we had to get a bit larger room (we usually got a king bed room on the other side) and requested a room with two queens. We ended up getting a very spacious room that also had a hide-a-bed/sofa, where there was room to set up a pack-n-play for our youngest. This is room 29 and I would highly recommend it for families. It had plenty of space and the bathroom was nice with a separate sink area outside the toilet/bathtub room. It also had a desk and a table with chairs for eating, plus a fridge and microwave.||||Obviously, we were not expecting a super upgraded motel considering the age of the property and the location, although we were surprised to have free wi-fi. The room was pretty clean for being such an old building. And everything worked well - toilet, sink, and bathtub/shower. The water in the shower had a good flow, the temperature was easy to control, and it drained fine. As always with these kind of motels, I like having our car right outside the door, which really makes it easy with kids and loading/unloading luggage.||||The room itself was very quiet at night and we didn't hear any highway or railroad noise and the curtains kept the room dark for sleeping. The beds were very comfortable and sheets kept us plenty warm at night.||||The owners are super friendly and offered many times to help with anything else we might need during our stay. This is always our first choice to stay at whenever we have to stop in Holdrege and hope to have a reason to...

My husband and I got a room here for a friend's birthday party so we could drink and just stay in town. We get our stuff in the room and my brother in law came to he a beer with us before we went to the party and he sat on the bed with my husband as I started my makeup, he and my husband looked at the bed and there was bed bugs coming out of the bed! Yes it was bed bugs I Google them because either didn't believe them but sure enough bed bugs! We went to the deck to ask for our money back and he said we could just move next door. We said no we didn't want to risk getting bugs and bringing them home! We did get our money back but 1 star cause bed bugs are almost impossible to get rid of! They need all new beds...

My personal experience was the room was very clean and staff was there when you needed them as well as went the extra mile to help me out. I was hauling an oversize load and had to stop due to sundown woke up the following morning and couldn't leave due to a snow storm. The husband of the gal that was at the front desk was willing to take me to the store for food amd smokes so I didn't have to walk in the excessive winds and blowing snow. I will definitely stay there again if need be when I am in there area. I want to say thank you to the both of you for your kindness...
