I travel more than most and as such, I stay in a lot of hotels, AirBnbs and such. Baycrest has a number of different options and the Augustine, the one I’m reviewing, is a small efficiency cabin. It was perfect for my needs and frankly, one of the finest cabins I’ve ever stayed in. The location itself is absolutely breathtaking; nestled on the cliffs of the Kachemak Bay, the setting alone deserves an award but enough about that, there’s plenty of places that have just a view. This place is more than a pretty view. The Augustine has private parking, a fire pit, a natural gas Weber grill and a hot tub on the porch. I used the hot tub every day I stayed here. It maintained temperature and was clean. 5/5 I never used the fire pit as it was May when I stayed and din’t get dark until well after 10pm. Fire pit was tidy and well stocked with wood 5/5 The Augustine cabin was perfectly appointed. It had a small stocked kitchen with refrigerated condiments and a great assortment of spices. The kitchen was fully stocked with a beautiful gas stove/oven, a full size fridge with ice maker and stainless steel farmer’s sink. The bed was a memory foam king size and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was small but exactly what you need with a walk in shower, toilet and sink. The room is heated with a natural gas fireplace which is great for the ambiance 5/5 My interactions with the staff were always courteous and helpful. They were attentive to my needs. I will definitely return here again. Thanks for everything!

INCREDIBLE … is really all I can say about this place. I grew up on the Peninsula and brought a group of friends up for their first time in Alaska. They were blown away by the quality of the property, the views, and the houses themselves. Jen and her team are kind, courteous, and helpful during your stay. I couldn’t recommend this property more! Lupine - If this house is available for the dates you are looking to visit, just book it. You’ll not regret it. We loved the little playground (we had our 3 year old with us), the hanging swing with stunning views, and the large yard and fire pit. Aspen - As advertised and immediately adjacent to the Lupine. Great if your group is too big to fit in Lupine. Canyon Cottage - Quaint and at the opposite end of the property from the office and Lupine. Stunning views and great set up. In hindsight, our group should have booked the Birch to keep everyone closer together but we really had nothing to complain about with this house either.

We found Baycrest Lodge through an ordinary Google search, and yet it felt like it was meant to be. This place is truly a piece of heaven, and we will not be staying anywhere else whenever we come to Homer! My husband and I stayed here for two nights for our anniversary. We stayed in Birch the first night and Fireweed the second night. The views are breathtaking, especially from the hot tub and lawn in Birch! The decor and design of the places create a modern rustic ambience that makes you feel like you are in an Alaskan palace. Everything about the places- from the hand soap, to the kitchen spices, to the keurig pods, to the comfortable couches- feels like you have stepped into a dream full of luxury and refreshment. This trip was a special getaway for these tired parents of precious little ones, and it was a meaningful spiritual retreat for us both. We can’t say enough good things about this place! It will definitely be a tradition for us!

Everything at the Lupine house was perfect or beyond perfect. Outside, the view from the fence line gave us awesome views of mountains and the bay all the way to the Spit. The fence was very sturdy and there are a couple of chairs to sit on and unwind. The playground is well made and great for families traveling with small children and the fire pit allows for perfect roasting of marshmallows and beer drinking. The included playground was great for them too and very well built.

Indoors, everything was spotless and we all appreciated the in floor heating and gas fireplace which kept us warm even on the coldest nights. The kitchen was loaded with cooking essentials and appliances. The refrigerator was large and the kitchen was bright and with lots of counter space. Preparing food was a joy as the knives were also sharp and the range was gas. There’s a K cup machine for when feeling lazy and a grinder plus drip machine for when i wanted whole bean coffee.

The master suite has an amazing view and private deck. I also was very happy with the internet coverage throughout the house. There is wifi extenders on the second floor. Another benefit was that the bedrooms all had USB connections to the AC electricity. It makes keeping devices charged easy. The master bedroom was huge and probably the largest bedroom i have ever stayed in. There is a king bed and a fully loaded en suite bathroom with hottub and separate dual shower but what really impressed me was the attached office to the bedroom which features double recliners that face the huge window. The balcony was also huge and allows for private relaxing in the open air.

Jen was a pleasure to work with and is very warm and friendly. Phone calls and emails are quickly answered.

We were so impressed with the property and with Jen’s service we already booked our next Alaska trip for the Lupine while we were still...

I booked Augustine for our 18th Anniversary. I had many friends tell me that Augustine was worth it as it is set apart from the rest of the cabins, making it especially private. I was a little nervous due to the proximity to the highway. It was a NON issue! I was impressed with the sound proofing inside the cabin. I was thrilled!! I felt like we were in our own little world. The view was spectacular! We watched the sunset from the hot tub. (Note: You can hear road noise from hot tub, but the owners have done a phenomenal job hiding the hot tub and we could not see the road.) We had a small issue during our stay and it was fixed promptly with much apology from the lovely owner. We laid around all day, reading, napping, soaking and just sitting in peace and quiet. Because there was a full kitchen we cooked all our own foods and took the opportunity to do nothing and go no where. It was what this mom of 5 boys needed. We will go back! Augustine was absolutely perfect.

Side note: Because Augustine is right on the Highway I was a little nervous about our vehicle and strangers snooping around. Upon arrival there was a note that let us know the premises is monitored by cameras for our safety. I felt like that was going...
