Hillside Motel — Hotel in Homer

I pulled on my motorcycle about 6pm and it was pouring rain. The proprietor knew there was no where else for me to go. He said he could give me the last room for a special price which was not so special--it was actually very expensive. In the room, I found several problems. It was not clean. The carpet smelled of urine. The toilet was beneath a vent which dripped rainwater on you. The shower was filthy to the point where I was not sure if I would be cleaner going in or coming out. The free wi-fi showed up and you could connect to their network, but the network was not connected to the internet. I asked the proprietor if he could fix it and he said "its working, try again" three times so I gave up. I found out later that the bed had not been cleaned recently. There were thick dark curly hairs (if you get my meaning) that did not belong to me which I only found after sleeping the night. The back wall had a small hole in it which you could see water pouring down outside, but it did not enter the room as it was slightly above ground level. The door was cheap and flimsy and I suspect they are converted internal home doors, not really meant to be an outer door. I can say that if there had been any alternative at all, I would not have stayed there. The only good thing I can say about it is that it seems the heat...

It was horrible, I was awaken by bedbugs biting me and immediately told the guy at the desk who stated there’s been no complaints in 9 years, I proceeded to show him. They were still crawling around the bed and pillows, in which he smashed them claiming they weren’t bedbugs. Blood was everywhere.
