We've been coming for seven summers now and we always are very, very impressed with the property and its location. ||The owner(s) take great care with the property in every fashion. The rooms are large and very charming and you'll never forget you are the lake. The rooms are huge, clean, have a nice refrigerator & microwave and bathroom (non-pump) amenities. ||A huge plus is the access to the room. Entry to the room is timed and coded (with last four of the phone number that you used to make the reservation)----1234, wait 3 seconds, unlock and you're in. No lost key cards. They're timed on their check-in/check-out so there's no early check-in, I believe. For us, it was 3pm-11am. They email and texted before check-in. ||The room, as I wrote, are very large and adorable and very, very clean. Not a thing out of order. ||A 3-minute walk brings one to one of the finest restaurants in NE PA (if no the finest): Gresham's Chop House. It does get crowded and we're there when they open at 4pm. A 1-2 minute walk gives you a wonderful ice cream stand with seating outside. ||I can't say enough about the property and area, but the ESL is across the street from a walkway and benches to watch spectacular sunsets. I opt to go down a bit south and dunk in the water and watch sunsets from there, but the benches are incredible. There also is a 2-3 minute walk through flora to get to Palmyra Beach, which is swimmable and shallow. One shouldn't go when it's not open, but hey, be chill and take a dunker, bring a towel and get ice cream. ||Our major draw is renting a half-day long kayak (same lot as the Lodging) and to paddle out to Eppley Island or Shuman's Point. A suggestion would be to go on a weekday and/or non-windy. We've beem doing this 1918. Eppley Island is deserted, frequented only by folks with a boat. We kayak, pull it in and go for a swim (bring water shoes), Pure heaven!||As I write this, we are planning another stay there before Labor Day. If not, there's plenty of really cool hiking neaby. If you need anything, Hawley proper has all of the usual chain stuff, but you'd never sense that they are close to East Shore Lodging. ||The staff are so wonderful - kind, helpful. That includes folks answering the phone, taking boat waivers and the young men at the dock just across the street. US-6 can be busy, but there's a crosswalk and everyone seems to be very cool about letting you cross the street.||For the sake of brevity, I'll knock it off soon. East Shore Lodging is a gem, and if we can't back in a few weeks, we'll be there off-season. Thank you,...
Read moreStayed recently. For the most part, nothing really bad to say, just a few thoughts on improving. Rooms were fine, spacious and clean, no issues there. Internet went down or crawled at times. I reported it to the front desk, was told I had to call the help desk (for something affecting everyone staying at the place?). To me, that's something the front desk should be doing. It also seems that they are more interested in pleasing their pontoon tours crowd. There are parking spots outside each room and a bunch in the general area parking lot area. Thing is, everyone seems to park here, including some just looking for a spot to go walk on the lake trail. They should do something to guarantee the room spots are there for those actually renting a room. We go out to do something, come back and had trouble getting a place to park because of so many people taking spots. They don't seem to care about improving that situation for some reason. If this doesn't bother you, then give the place another star. Edit: I can't seem to reply to the owner so adding here. To me, that's a bit where we disagree, if there is something concerning the resort as a whole, the resort should handle. I did call and just told them that the internet was down or just very slow. They said they would reboot and they did, speed was back to normal. This seemed to affect your checkout register as when I was in there purchasing something, they said they were having slowness issues processing on it. I did go back in when service was restored to let them know it was back to normal because I thought they'd like to know. As far as parking, the place was packed and had to wait for somebody to leave to park. Getting close to our room was not the issue. I am on my feet all day often so not a little afraid of exercise. On the internet service, I am not on my phone as much as you'd think but if wifi service/internet is offered, why not use it when at the location? Like I said, everything else was nice but your response seems a little bit condescending, not sure why, maybe it's just...
Read moreI just got back from having the absolute privilege of staying here and I cannot say enough positive things about my experience. As a single mom of a young child with many special needs who requires care around the clock, I have been long overdue for a break and just some me time...this was exactly what I needed!! Such a peaceful, serene environment, very relaxed with no hustle and bustle which is exactly what this weary soul was desperately needing!!! So convenient how they email and text you a code for the door to use during your stay and you aren't required to go into the office to check in and you just text them when you check out. I am already eagerly awaiting my next visit here hopefully again soon! I have never been in a more home-like, comfortable, cozy and clean hotel, motel, or resort in my life...not to mention the bed was soooo comfy and the best sleep I've gotten in probably years! The way they have the place decorated captured me at first sight as I love nautical theme... I stayed in the king suite on the 2nd floor which was soooo private and felt like truly an escape from the chaos of life being secluded around the back of the building with a gorgeous view of the woods. I didn't see a soul while there until today when I was leaving and had to ask an employee for a snow brush to clean off my car.. she was sooo super friendly and helpful! I'll definitely be...
