I've recently stayed in one of the B units and I found it very pleasant. Some of the units here are time shares, some rentals and some private owners. Having traveled the US for work as a Road Warrior with Scantron, I've stayed in a few places such as these. I would definitely say that my unit was on par with any other in it's class. The view of the lake is very nice. Compared to some locations, early evening may be a bit noisier than some in Hot Springs. The nearby bridge is a major route for the city. However, city life in Hot Springs ends early and the bridge in recent years has been lit up colorfully. It's actually a nice view and the back lighting makes it possible to see the lake at a distance. That's unlike some areas where the lack of backlighting give you no reflection across the water and just void (Imagine the DC reflecting pool on the Capital Mall with no monuments or lights...kind bland without it). The kitchen appliances in my unit did have a bit of age but were in good order. Water pressure was good and 40 gallon hot water tank...so there was plenty. The carpet in my unit had some stains...but if I had to look for a complaint that would be it. This unit had a fireplace and the deck off the living room also went in front of the master bedroom...that was nice. I hardly noticed any neighbors and the walls did not seem paper thin like some places. These seemed to have been built to be lived in...and some are. They're not the plastic, pressboard or thin doors and cabinets like some cheaper places. Sure, there's some wear and tear but it does NOT feel like a fancy "Extended Stay America" or something commercial like that. Seeing as some have been lived in or stayed in for extended periods there will likely be some differences from unit to unit...but...
Read moreI am a recently divorced, 60 year-old male, who moved in to Hamilton Harbor condos on November 17, 2015. Was told then that a 30-day notice of vacating was required to get my $500 deposit back. No problem. I gave the on-site manager, Resa, that notice on March 16, 2016, when I paid my final month's rent. Was told at that time to give them my new address, which I did, and my deposit would be mailed to me, after the last electric bill came thru ( I paid any amount over $100), which would be held out of deposit check. After repeated attempts to find out status of deposit return, and repeated replies of, "working on it" or "I'll take care of it in next few days", I finally went back to condo office on June 29, 2016, where Resa informed me that I had not complied with the correct procedure for my 30-day notice, and would not get deposit back. She then printed me a form which stated that I was supposed to have sent a certified letter to their office stating my intent to vacate. I asked her why she didn't tell me that when I gave her verbal notice the first time, or during any of our subsequent conversations. Her reply was "I didn't sign the agreement. You did". When I got home, I looked in the file I had created for Hamilton Harbor and found that I never got that form when I originally rented, or any time after, which, of course, I can't prove. ||This is just the final act of unprofessionalism, lack of communication and integrity that I encountered in the 5 months that I lived there. Not to mention the many maintenance issues that were ignored by local management; and the frequent sight of police car blue lights visiting my neighbors at all hours, for domestic disturbance, drugs, theft, etc. This "resort"...
Read moreUsed our timeshare trade to stay here for the motorcycle rides around Hot Springs. After reading the reviews we wondered if it was a good call.||||They NEVER answer the phone and return messages sometimes. We were going to have a late check in and it took a lot to get it pulled off, but they did have a key waiting. 6 calls and to 2 return calls to get it accomplished.||||Room was average, had newer carpet, a new microwave and pretty new other furnishings. Only one key worked, sliding glass doors rollers are shot and it took a lot of effort to operate. One TV remote didn't work, and they knew it, since a brand new one was there in the package for us to program. Shower door rollers were broke, so we had to be careful with it. Water pressure was great, with lots of hot water. Jaccussi tub worked fine. Bed was good, but pillows were terrible. One light did not work. Maintenance man came to install missing range burner guards.||Pool was good but had to use the key and reach over to gate to unlock because the outer lock didn't work.No lake access.||||Never checked in, had any contact with anyone else or checked out, really strange. They rent several units by the month along with several condo owners.||||Could have been better, but could have been a lot worse. Appears they are trying to improve, but still have...
