We stayed at site A9, our first back-in site. It is a full hook-up gravel site. A young person named Ava guided us into our site with ZERO difficulty. Ava is a huge asset to the KOA. Always delightful, helpful and pleasant. Every staff member that we came in contact with has be amazing. ||We cannot stress enough what a big difference the staff can make during a stay and they nailed it! This is one of the best KOAs that we have stayed at so far. ||Site A9 is a full hook-up that is pretty shaded by trees. In fact, a majority of the sites are shaded by trees. One downside to the trees is that we are finding large carpenter ants both inside and outside, but it comes with the territory. ||The bathrooms are single rooms with a toilet and shower that are always clean. The laundry room is very clean and well kept. They even have a utility sink to wash dedicates. ||Internet......was an issue. StarLink becomes a nice paperweight as there are way too many trees to obtain a signal at all. However, our backup of Verizon 5g Home Internet worked amazingly. The KOA Wifi was hit or miss. Our AT&T cell service and hotspot were great. If you're a digital nomad, make sure you have backups for your backup. ||There is a large dog area and some walking trails. The campground sits outside of the downtown area. Close enough to be convenient but far enough to be away from the congestion and the sketchiness of some areas. There is an ice cream van that drives around in the evening. If he is having no luck, his speed accelerates and can be scary if you’re walking think Jeepers Creepers movie style.||The breakfast that is served Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Grandpa’s Griddle) is at a bargain price and is actually pretty tasty. ||In our opinion, the “Pond” site is the best site in the campground. It sits parallel to a pond that has a little water feature. The Pond site is a pull-thru full hook-up site. ||When leaving the KOA and getting onto the highway, you must traverse an extremely steep section. You will not miss it. There are huge gouges in the road from previous campers. As an alternative, you can turn right when leaving the campground which will also lead you to 70, this allows you to avoid losing your bumper or dragging our hitch.||Please follow our journey throughout the country. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook and TripAdvisor The...

Looks nice, BUT dangerous activity and no concern for families safety. MOLD all over the cabin mattress, cigarette butts everywhere, dogs off leash running around one even pooping right next to our fire ring. If you like chaos this is the place for you!

My family and I are avid campers. We have three small children and this time decided to get a cabin. Ended up leaving a day early because of the conditions and the other campers being such idiots… and that’s the nice way to say it.

Signs in cabin prohibit use of propane on the cabin deck yet what do we see? 3 other cabins in our area, all with huge propane grills and portable heaters right on the wooden deck under the porch. Did staff say anything? No. So thank you fellow campers for putting my family in danger for your own enjoyment.

No smoking… yeah right! Every cabin around us was a cigarette chimney with some even smoking cigars. Does staff do anything? No. Again, thank you for considering campers around you…. So thoughtful.

We have stayed in KOA cabins before, and they have the standard plastic mattress. That is what we were expecting. Here? No, they are old disgusting mattresses and when my husband flipped it over to put the sheet corner on, we discovered the underside was COVERED in MOLD. Good thing we brought our sleeping bags, we just layer down a tarp and slept outside or in the car.

Campfires, it’s not camping without one, yet we expect safe fire practices. Twice we noticed the people in the cabins next to us went to sleep with the camp fires still going…. Not just embers, full flames just unattended. We also noticed many of the campers chopping limbs off trees for firewood, which lead to a frightening encounter for my son. One of our fellow campers walked right into our spot and started ripping tree branches off the tree. My little son heard it and was convinced it was a bear and burst into tears. He said he thought only bears would ruin trees like that…. No son, unfortunately people are much less considerate than animals in nature.

Tried to do laundry…. None of the machines work. One had an out of order sign, the others did not. I give two stars because the bathrooms were somewhat clean, the rest, stay away if you can!

After all this we left. Who knows if they will even notice these things. It seems like a feee for all here, use...

False Advertising! first thats there layout and description on the web site, the other pics are what it actually looks like. If I am gonna pay that much money I expect what they show. The futon was in front of the window not like on the diagram which blocked the view, the futon has a big dent in it, if your one person stay in the middle my husband went down to floor, the covers on the bunk beds are plastic so crunchy all night if you move alot, the queen bed was so rough and sounded like broken parts everytime you moved. The coffee maker takes number 4 cone filters they had round filters you would think they would know that, there were ants crawling out from under bathroom sink, it hadn't rained. A getaway is for relaxing if you like puke green on plaster walls you may like it, still nothing what is show on their own site. I called Monday and expressed my concerns and ask the owner call me before I go here, nothing, pretty sure they avoided my calls today so I sent an email no response I called this evening and the lady I spoke wilth was rude she even said you may think I'm rude well if she said it she knew she was being rude. She said they told the owner the concerns and she would update the website, then she ask why did you not come to us when you were here we would of put you somewhere else I didn't want to argue with her for one and the other the website said they were full no availabilty. I ask her about the owner calling me and she said when she gets the message she will but yet they spoke to her yesterday about this let that sink in. I had gone to youtube to find something and the latest were 4 years ago, I couldn't find anything on the cabins lodge thereselfs, so I had to go by the picture. It also says no tv so ok I was good with that but yes theres a tv was also told had to share firpit grill no you don't they both have there on. SOOOO much miss information. I had every intentions of doing a video and putting it on youtube for them to help but again I won't misrepresent anything with my name attached to it, I really wanted to bring my Grandchldren there to but glad I didn't at this point, so this...

All in all a good enough stay. We were in a mini-lodge cabin w/partial kitchen. The good things are they do provide dishes, silverware and cooking gear as well as a microwave, coffee maker and a small stovetop. Dish and hand soap are provided as well as a small supply of coffee, filters and condiments to make your morning cup of joe. The cabins are tight against each other but don’t feel that way as they are also angled away so you are staring at your neighbor. A spacious deck with furniture and a fire pit are great. The campground itself is a very well kept with some neat trails and pond. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The big negative I had was the condition of the AC unit. It was overgrown with mildew and the cabin was stuffy with that musty odor. I had to go buy some bleach spray to get rid of some of it on the inside and I had to clean the filter. If you have an allergy to mildew you don’t want to stay here. I understand with the way the cabins are situated it might be difficult to keep this under control but it looked like they just gave up on trying. The outdoor furniture needed to be cleaned as well. Really whole cabin could use a deep clean and sprucing up. Even the wooden broom they provided was growing mildew. I would still recommend this campground. Just be prepared.

Great park, we really enjoyed our stay here while traveling to Texas for work. We spent a full week here so we got a good feel for the park. We travel in a 34 Class A towing, there is a very steep incline tunring on to the road that leads up to the KOA, we had to take the turn really slow to make sure we didnt bottom out. The park itself is really tight and has some steep hills, but we didnt have an issue just have to take it slow. This is a very busy park, only a few campers stayed for more than one night, almost every morning the parked emptyed out and filled back up that evening. The park is very wooded and has many nice but short hiking trails, sites are close together but tiered so didnt seem like you where too close to the site next to you. During our stay water pressure was low during all times not just during peak times, also the cable wasnt useable, all the channels where very fuzzy. I feel like if cable is going to offerned as an amenity it needs to be working. Nicely stocked campstore but the game room needed some help, looks like there was lots of personal items being stored in that area. Close to downtown Hot Springs, we would stay here again, but maybe not for a full week, there are many nice state parks in the area.
