I have to admit for a 3 star hotel I had quite a lovley stay đ! Very decent price if you book early & online. Front desk lady was really sweet, she did mention there was a 50$ deposit (you can pay this cash or card although card will take 5-7 business days to receive) so I suggest you bring $50 cash
Although I didn't have cash at the moment, she allowed me to settle in a room, (holding my ID obviously, which wasn't a problem) ate my dinner that I brought, then went to am ATM to pull out the $50 deposit.
The rooms are extremely clean đ«§! Very well maintained, she bedding covers are very thick and comfy, the bed is pretty comfy as well, the AC units are typically off when you enter the room but room cools down very quickly, they have like a 65 inch TV, the remotes have all the buttons, I'm not sure if it's every room but the room I was placed in had a full sized fridge,( not your typical mini fridge) restrooms are extremely clean, although don't be alarmed the toilet flushes extremely loud lol but I find that to be good because you won't have to feel with your toilet ever clogging..
Breakfast is pretty decent, not the biggest breakfast but I mean honestly most 3 star hotels don't even provide breakfast so this was definitely a plus, I'm definitely a breakfast person. They have a waffles machine rather than the typical wonky pancake machine, and it works extremely great. Makes some perfect tini waffles, syrup & butter provided, yogurt, milk 2 options of cereals, regular bagels, bread for toast, apple & orange juice, Coffee, a few fruits & oatmeal. If milk or anything else runs out just ask and they'll bring more đ
(No food out of the breakfast room, not such a big deal. Just eat your breakfast & go.) it's posted in the room.
Over all I had an AMAZING STAYđ, my only small issue was location lol, Google maps tells you to turn into the car lot next door so just keep a lookout for the hotel sign & name. If you miss it be prepared for a HUGE U-turn lol. (This is obviously something management can't do anything about so definitely not their fault, blame the city for making the U turn so far lmao.
It's crazy how many people complain about this hotel in their reviews, but then you read it & the response from the management team and it explains exactly why the are complaining đ, if your bringing 2+ kids & 2+ adults and leave a mess.. don't expect to get your deposit back.. that's at ANY hotel so don't go bashing a great hotel because your an un clean...
Read moreWe are local to Kingwood and I read reviews before coming here but I thought that there was exaggerations. We have been displaced since the hurricane and our other hotel ran out of vacancy so we came to this one. I couldnât make it past one night here.
First, I booked with my Wyndham reward points. They still made me pay a $50 deposit and we âmightâ get it back after the room is âinspectedâ. We still havenât gotten it back and left 3 days ago.
Second, the people that work there are nice enough but either incredibly misguided or donât have a lot of self awareness. To begin with, they have a complimentary breakfast but you canât take any of the food or drinks back to your room. Donât worry, theyâll remind you of that at check in, when you walk into it in the morning and there are about five signs in there reminding you that you canât eat anywhere but in that room. Furthermore, there are also other signs that tell you to limit what you get and to not be wasteful. While youâre there, attempting to comply with the rules, they watch you like a hawk. Itâs extremely unnerving and uncomfortable. It literally does feel like youâre a child in elementary school. This is the hospitality industry and I donât think itâs fully intentional but this place does not make customers feel welcomed at all.
After our very intense breakfast, my child that has special needs had a bit of a meltdown in our room. The child had an elevated voice but it wasnât anything wildly loud and lasted all of about two minutes. The staff came and knocked on the door and accused us multiple times of having a puppy or a dog in our room. We were literally parked directly beside the lobby in a sedan with four people in it. There are also cameras everywhere. The staff member pressed twice about us having a dog in the room until I told her to come on in and check for herself, even once more after we told her we had a special needs child and the child was having a difficult moment. She then changed her tune and was apologetic but we were there for less than 24 hours and it was so frustrating. We are adults and donât need babysitters.
Overall, the staff wasnât overtly rude but it was a difficult place to stay. I wouldnât recommend if you have small kids that might be a little too noisy from time to time. If youâre traveling solo and want a good price, maybe they arenât as strict. Iâm not sure. It felt more like a detention facility...
Read moreThe first room they gave me, room 224, had dead bed bugs. I asked if they just treated for bed bugs, and like most shady hotels, they played dumb. That night 2 rooms on either side of me decided they wanted to party and were loud until around 3 AM. While I was getting bit by bed bugs. I went to the office at 3:30 and asked for a different room due to the bed bugs and loud neighbors. I requested a downstairs room if there was one available. That attendant was kind and gave me a downstairs room. This room was dingy, toilet was dingy with black tiny, "hair-like" things on it. I tried cleaning it with a cleaner and it would clean off and later it would appear again. I didn't use the toilet at this hotel. The sink faucet was not installed properly and would bang against the mirror every time I tried turning it on.
The next day, I walked over to wash clothes and asked the room attendant and so her if she could clean my room even though I just moved in because the food needed mopping. She was pleasant and said she would clean it after she finished the room she was working on. I turned to finish loading my clothes and the old lady that obviously runs this shady hotel told me not to talk to the attendant, that she pays her by the hour. I responded to never talk to me that way again, and that I'll speak to whom I please. She then said that the person at the front shouldn't have given me that downstairs room.
I work nights and slept hard because I didn't get any sleep the night before. So, at 11, check out time, the old lady calls and informs me it's Shrek out time. I apologize and informed her I'll be getting up and checking out. I'm loading my car and at 11:23, after taking some bags to my car and going to retrieve more, the same old lady knocks on the door, hard. When I open the door she immediately starts yelling at me that it's almost twelve and that she needs the rooms vacant at 11. I responded that I was leaving and to never yell at me again. I told her of she wanted to argue or yell, she needed to go yell at her husband.
This is a motel more than it is a hotel. It's an old building that obviously has been remodeled and they did a very poor job of remodeling. The decor is fitting for a crack house, not a...
