This had the possibility of being a great hotel. The location was good for a lot of activities and food places, However, the staff and the place itself left a lot to be desired. The rooms were musty and old. The smell lingered in the entire building. Candles were used in the lobby to distract you for the odor. The hotel representatives need training in human decency. There is no reason to show that you do not want to be there and that you do not care about the inadequacies of the rooms that are being rented. With that being said. The chain lock on the room was not even connected enough to the door to be secure. There was a substantial gap in between the door and the frame of the door. You could clearly see inside and outside the room. The beds were so old and worn it was terrible. The beds were lumpy and very uncomfortable. I was told that because it was an extended stay; they were often like that. (Front desk was the person that I complained too and was not concerned. Poor excuse. We had three (3) rooms on this Christmas eve night. Needless to say. This was a bad Christmas for the family. The box springs also needed replacing. They creaked and howled when you moved. The front desk operator that checked us in had a terrible allergy to the animals that were there with their owners. Yet, she worked her way through with all the sneezing that she was doing at the time. Please, commend he for her diligence in that situation. The other two that I engaged with were less than helpful and less tha happy to be there. With all the issues; I at least thought they would reach out and at least provide some incentive to come back or accommodate the atrocities that were experienced. We chose another hotel for the following night (s). Even the cheaper hotels were better than this extended stay. If you cannot make of for some of the things. At least provide better customer service to your guests. This place did not even deserve one (1) star. As a agent in the travel industry. This will definitely not be a recommended chain of choice to reside. I highly suggest if you are readinf this post that you...
Read moreThis place is poorly run, poorly taken care of and is not very clean. It started with the rodent traps in plain sight as I entered the foyer. The carpet in my room had several stains, chipped paint, empty picture frame on the wall and old fixtures. It is in dire need of a remodel! I stayed there for three weeks, unfortunately. They “cleaned” the room three times, they just changed the towels, made the bed and took out the garbage. There was a dead bug on the windowsill the day I checked in and that bug stayed there until I checked out on the 26th. It’s probably still there! The hotel does not have a generator so during hurricane Beryl, the power was out for about three days. It was like a movie walking down the hallways in the dark with my iPhone light to get to my room; their glowsticks in the halls didn’t help. When they finally got power to the hotel, the parking lot lights still didn’t work for at least another day, I can’t explain that. Two weeks into my stay, I took the elevator up to the second floor to get to my room and was hit with a terrible gas smell. I reported it to the front desk and they said that they had turned off the gas and that I could stay on the first floor room. (That’s not going to help me if the hotel explodes.) Luckily the smell dissipated by the next morning. If my company didn’t require me to stay there, I would have checked out and gone to another motel. The best thing about my room was that the mattress was very comfortable. There are much better, and definitely cleaner, hotels in Clear Lake than this one. I suggest you stay at one of them. I’ll never stay at another...
