SERVICE & CHECKIN The woman at the front desk had such a sweet personality. Checkin is predominately analog & manual; very slow as a result. Card readers also don't work, which could've spend things up. 11:30 latest checkout offered.š
LOBBY, ELEVATOR, CORRIDORS Clean transitions with a minimalist look. ā ļøElevators were even slower than the checkin speed; I STRONGLY suggest using the stairs (you'll thank me later).ā ļø
ROOM https://youtu.be/zCzwYUO9Mv4 The dimensions of this room were amazing for the price, featuring a modern design, abundant outlets, good lighting, & impressive cleaning standards! The manual AC was a bummer but the other amenities are a huge value. All other facets were well-maintained.
BED A fantastic mattress. Unfortunately the linens were abysmal. I did not enjoy the blankets at all. The pillow fill was significantly under too, offering very little support.
BATH Mid-size bathroom space with minimal toiletries. The shower experience was "meh" due to poor accessibility. ā ļøA slip mat was also missing-- hopefully this isn't the norm! At least the towels were decent. Toilet flush was also rather weak.
TV & ENTERTAINMENT Premium display on a HUGE TV. Good quality & conveniently accessible for hooking up a chromecast.
WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION Secure & performant!š --Performance-- Video streaming - Good Online gaming - Good Video chatting - Good --Nerd Stats-- 82 Mbps download 27 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 18 ms latency 4 ms jitter
FOOD & DRINK DoorDash friendly. I was impressed with the dense breakfast offering: waffles, juice bar, pastries, eggs, cereal, etc. Turkey sausage was a pleasant surprise, although it was incredibly bland for a southern location. The other proteins were ok except the low quality stringy bacon. Super Kitchenette in room-- my first full-size fridge in an airport hotel! Being able to prepare and eat real meals was my favorite part of the stay. Vending machines are also onsite with the usual junk food.
NOISE Not bad, also not great when it comes go sound proofing. Facing the freeway is a bad experience in general if hoping for quiet. The walls are somewhat thin so speakerphone conversations in adjoining rooms can be annoying.
LOCATION "Airport hotel facing the freeway" says it all. Not much for walkability but it felt safe.
VERDICT It's a great value. A few kinks but overall I enjoyed my stay. I would stay here again & highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo i will start by saying that if you book through a different website like Priceline as i did, you will need a cash deposit of 100 or 150 dollars. I checked in late as it was a last minute planned stay. I loved the look of the rooms online. When i arrived i explained to Monica that i was celebrating a birthday and that i was excited to be staying there because of the kitchenette. As i was checking in they told me my card that i paid online with, could not be charged for the deposit. I Tried explaining multiple times that i used the same card and she said that was not the one on file. Because she could not have two cards on file she would need a cash deposit. I told her i had already paid for the room and I'd didn't have cash. She politely said there was nothing she could do and a deposit was needed. I was so mad because she then said if you could at least get a hundred that would be fine but downgraded my room when i came back with the cash deposit. But something needed to be put down for incidentals ... I would like to mention i have stayed in many a hotel and know the difference between a nice place and a questionable place , which is why I was so mad that she couldn't just use my card. This was supposed to be a nice place. I did go get the deposit after wasting almost an hour . When i got back she ended up downgrading my room from kitchenette that i had paid for to a regular room. My bf who i only see once every 3 months and who was celebrating his bday missed out on the meal prep i was going to do for him as well as his keto cake because this employee did not know her job. When i asked for a manger she said no one would be in until Monday... I checked in Friday night around 10.. i was so upset. I also asked if I could decorate the room before I went to get the deposit she could keep my credit card and Id because i would be coming back with my bf and i wanted the room to be decorated after his very stressful traveling... I was denied access to the room that was already paid because she didn't know how to work her computer according to the general manager the next morning. i was soo mad. .. the room was ok and the beds were a bit firmer than my liking... I can't comment on the kitchenette that i paid for because i didn't get it. ... Please train Monica better and the other overnight woman that i didn't get her name. Both said there was no way to charge my card for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI stayed here for one night, Tuesday, 4 June 2024.||I paid with 12,000 BW Points inc tax but believe the rate is around $70.||The best things about this hotel are that it is only 5 miles from IAH on the east side of Houston, so ideal if you are going to the airport or travelling east and that the General Manager appears to take great pride in cleanliness. ||My King room was generously proportioned and the furniture was in reasonable condition. There is a coffeemaker, fridge and microwave. ||There is a large walk in shower in the bathroom but the water pressure is low. Four bath towels were supplied but strangely only one hand towel, which was so thin that I quickly gave up using it in favour of one of the bath towels.||However, there are a number of downsides.|| The hotel is on a double highway with large volumes of noisy traffic all night and day.||The hotel appears to be in an industrial area and most of the road from the airport is single lane each way with no central line marking, which could be dangerous. ||There are no nearby restaurants and the [45 minute] order in service stops at 8.30pm. So, if as I did, you arrive after that time your only choice will be the vending machines which only take $1 and $5 notes but give you change in quarters necessitating repeat visits to the external cashiers window.||I found the check in person and cashier both quite surly.||The breakfast [6.00am to 9.00am] was perfectly acceptable with coffee, various juices, 3 cereals, bagels, muffins, bacon and sausage but the eggs were obviously made from powder, which is a false economy in my opinion. The small area can only seat 24 but I had no difficulty getting a table at 7.30am.||Check is early at 11.00am.||On balance this is a reasonable value hotel that's convenient for Houston George Bush Airoport but I wouldn't stay here again for more...
