We had to pull over one night driving home from Michigan picking up a moped and stayed in one of the hottub room. We had an amazing night and next morning. We were enjoying it and one another so much we had to be told it was check out time twice! Lol. Cute lil motel. Reminder of 70-80"s hottub right next to ves in floor it was clean as well as the room. Night guy working was a lil difficult to get along with kinda like we were inconveniencing him. But overall great place for a fun cpl night together. Bobby Patterson thank you for the amazing trip!!! definitely memories were made!!

Both the person I spoke with when making the reservation, and the gentleman that checked me in, were incredibly friendly and helpful. Their kindness was much appreciated. That alone would convince me to use this hotel again in the future. The rooms have had some updating but have some age on them. Nevertheless, my room was very serviceable. The inn is also pet friendly, There is also a very good pizza place, Howell To Go, adjacent to the hotel (walking distance).

So here's the tea:

Honestly it's not that bad, the rumors make it sound worse than it is. People are generally friendly, and I'd you reach out for support, most will reach back. The afternoon and night guys in the office are very kind and if you need resources they can point you in the right direction. Ryan is really good at this, he will give you lots of helpful info.

Whatever you do, avoid the literal sociopathic day manager Chris. He's a fragile man with an even more fragile ego and is openly disgusted by anyone with mental health issues despite his own obvious symptoms. Just in case the owners check, you should know what your day manager really thinks of the guests he's meant to be helping. He believes that people with mental health struggles don't deserve to be there because they "mess with 'his' business", and heavily implied they don't deserve respect or to exist at all. I wrote down the entire interaction immediately after, so if you do check this and want to know more, I would be happy to share it with you. He is rude and demeaning to people he believes he's better than, and the already vulnerable people who often stay here do not deserve to have to interact with a man who treats them as subhuman.

I do believe the owners care since they built this place and offer it in the first place, so I'm hoping they're just unaware of his behavior and don't support it. For what it's worth, I'm self pay, not a voucher, so this is not a complaint about the rules or anything like that. I'm genuinely disturbed by his behavior and attitude toward people, and many other people here I've spoken with feel similarly. I really hope you take action on this, especially the blatantly illegal things he does.

But in general, don't be scared or anything. Yeah the rooms are old and not updated, but it's safe and really not bad, other than a couple things. Some of the people who work there cough Amir cough seem too busy spying on people and running back to their master like a good dog to report on what he believes are violations, and on multiple occasions has literally just shoved a vacuum at me and ordered me to clean the room myself, which is odd, but maybe he was busy stalking someone like he usually is. I have seen housekeeping go into other rooms, although for whatever reason only the female housekeepers. The rest of the staff is kind, and there are a lot of good people here.

There are a few kitchenette rooms, but unless you get into one from the start, good luck getting one later. Chris will lie to your face about their availability. But if you're gonna try, try Saturday morning. And for whatever reason, despite the ridiculous pet fee, apparently they aren't allowed in kitchenette units. Are you afraid my cat is gonna learn to cook while I'm at work or something?

But ultimately, this isn't a bad place, and it has the potential to be really good if the owners take action regarding the attitude of the day manager. I didn't really mind it here other than Chris, and Amir just shoving vacuums at me and giving me orders like a slave. Avoid them and you should be okay. Just don't wound Chris's ego, which is easier said than done. Respect the rules, no overnight visitors, be kind to your neighbors, and unless you get unlucky you'll be okay. Maybe even happy here. It's a good place, you'll be safe here. And hopefully the actual owners of Chris' business (as he calls it, he will try to convince you he owns it and is all powerful) will make...

I wouldn't recommend no one to sleep here or even live here. I had my iPhone that I forgot in one of the roims I was staying in and they gave me the we can't allow you to go retrieve your brand new iPhone from the room. I had a week voucher come into Kensington Inn to stay and the manager Chris was very ill mannered and has a HUGE behavioral problems but he took my week stay voucher ripped it, crumbled it and then threw it in the garbage. Someone really needs to have the manager Chris reported in and sent to jail! He's a fraud like the rest of his workers and don't ever forget anything valuable left behind while already checked out because they'll steal your item(s) knowing what you reported into the police. Yet the Howell police say there's nothing they can do about your items you accidentally left behind. Don't ever use no cards to pay for your stay either because they committed so much fraud on ones I had that I had reported fraud to my banks due to triple the amount being taken out of my accounts. So the banks had to give me new cards and I only from that point used cash no cards ever again. This place is trashy and black mold all in the rooms. Not even worth a $20.00 stay a night. I'd say only worth $10.00's a day to stay at a rundown motel. A guy last year died in one of the rokms. I watched his body get taken out of the room. Prostitution is a big issue here as well. Also makes me wonder if there's people staying at this motel that are on Michigans missing list as well. Got a lot of shady people that stay there along with a shady manager and his shady workers. You've got bedbugs, roaches and etc in all rooms. I'm going to see about reporting this motel in and hope to God they shut and tear this eye sore motel down. The maids all walk in on you early morning every morning yet don't care to walk in with naked people still sleeping. Makes me wonder if they're not into some sexual crap doing that to all guest just walking in on people while still sleeping naked. Seriously giving them (maids) the key to rooms just to enter in whenever they want makes me think a lot in my head. Don't leave anything valuable when you're out for the day in your room since they all steal your items and you come back to your room only to find out things are missing from your room while...

The only review here that matters is mine. It says a "1 star hotel" so people on here complaining have no right. I stayed here. They're right, the rooms smell a tad musty but that's because it lacks air circulation, if you turn the Frigidaire AC/Heating unit on and the bathroom fan things clear up. Granted, it's not for everyone. When staying at a 1 star hotel BRING YOUR OWN SHEETS AND PILLOWS. I stayed here spur of the moment, I had nothing. The pillows aren't great, sheets and bedspreads aren't great either but if you brought your own while you travel swap them out and you're good. The place is certainly dated but adequate, again in "context" it's sleep-able. The water pressure is dynamite, the hardest I've ever had in a hotel which might be a turn off to some but I found it OK. They give you a soap and a shampoo as most places which was great since I came with nothing. They have cable TV and free WIFI which worked great. It's also right off the highway and very quiet. I slept decently. It's less than the Holiday Inn Express right down the road, their rooms start at $120, here it was half the price. They have a mini fridge, microwave, ironing board and clothes hangers. Again "in context" for the price it's decent if you just bring your own sheets, pillows and air out the room a bit. It's definitely tolerable. I didn't see one bug. The only other thing is in the winter I'm not 100% sure how warm the room would be. I can see daylight at the bottom of the door so either the door is bowed or they just need to put a new sealant strip for the door to the outside. I'd stay here again in a pinch if I were price sensitive. I'm not price sensitive but the Holiday Inn was out of rooms when I went there and this was the next...
