Midway Motel — Hotel in Humphrey

I do a lot of traveling and don't write a lot of reviews. These last three months I have personally driven 30 thousand miles and played music in 22 states. But I had to write a review on this quaint, clean, and special little country motel. Nestled in the beautiful Nebraska landscape. I was driving from Norfolk on Hwy 81 about ten this morning and with many miles left to go, But I just couldn't go much further. I was going to stop in the next town which was 20 miles away, when I saw The midway. It is twenty miles south of Norfolk and Twenty miles north of Columbus and is nestled in a tiny little farming town with several restaurants and bars and a grocery store. If you want beautiful landscapes and friendly people and peace and quiet, this is your spot!!||||What was so special and prompted this review, was the exceptional customer service I received. I was exhausted it was early, like 10 A.M. I saw the motel and pulled in and ask Trisha the manager if I could get a room. She informed me that all the rooms were full and people needed to check out still. But she said that she would have one asap. So I told her I would return at Noon. Well I got a call just 30 minutes later and my room was ready. When I arrived she had turned the air on for me, and also made a delicious sandwich for me. It was mostly veggie, with local focaccia bread, avocados, tomatoes, onions and two different delicious cheeses. There was just a couple slices of bacon on this incredible sandwich. What made this so special was I had just only briefly mentioned to her how tired I was and that I was hungry. She was so kind, polite, funny and considerate. The rooms were immaculate, just perfectly clean and extremely quiet and cozy. Free wifi and a convenient Fridge. I will be returning. I highly recommend...

We were tired and did not want to drive to a larger town to eat supper; she got us checked into a very nice room, just newly painted, made sure we knew that if we needed anything, just let her know; on check out, she came to tell us good bye and wish us a safe trip.||||Hearing that we were in need of dinner/supper, she told us of the café at the Sinclair station, about a block away; she was right, the meal was very good and service with a smile. We had the buffet and while late in the afternoon, early in the evening, it was very good and a nice variety. Breakfast was quite good and no cardboard bacon! It is not on Trip Advisor; it is the Lariat Café; I did not like the atmosphere here, while they had a non-smoking section, the smoke was not adequately removed; the food was o.k., the service was adequate as short of waitresses and heavy...

We spent 12 days at this great little motel in the farm country while attending a family reunion and visiting friends and relatives in the area. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, and had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable and the AC perfect. The manager, Trisha, was very friendly and caring, the very best of hostesses! We will definitely stay there again during our next venture...
