Booked on Expedia. Staff if fine. Rooms are nothing like pictures. About $90US for one night. Arrived at 3:30. Checkin listed as 3pm. Ladies were changing bed sheets when we walked in. Left before midnight. Main issues: Dead bugs in light fixtures. So many carcasses that it was noticeable upon entry. This was the main thing that made us pack up and go home early instead of staying the night. If the dead ones are in the fixtures, the living ones are still in the room. Signs on motel and online ads say 100% smoke-free. This is false. Cigarette smoke in corridor from time we walked in to time we left. Room smelled like old cigarettes as well despite more recent paint job. This was the other reason we didn’t stay. Security. Back door guest entrance was propped open by a large rock so that anyone could just walk in from the street. We moved the rock twice so door would close securely. Both times rock reappeared and door was propped open again. Card scanner broken so room keys did not work to open this door. Guessing that’s why someone kept using the rock as a door stop. Our room was near this door, so we were a bit concerned who might be walking the halls since they didn’t need a key of any kind to get into the building. Also styrofoam cups with top half torn off kept appearing just inside this door. Big white dots (backlights inside TV LED screen) on TV. Tried to adjust brightness hoping they would go away. Nope. Minor Issues Shower pours into bathroom because old curved curtain hangers for tubs allow curtain to go over the shower floor lip. Had to ask for towels to resolve this (that small towel for the floor wasn’t in their linen setup). Cords everywhere. TV cords all hang out on top of dresser. AC unit cord exposed. Stains and rust on most fixtures, and a lot of dried liquid stains on walls.
Good exterior lighting in front. Recently renovated means paint job and tubs removed for large showers, and peel&stick flooring....
Read moreDo not stay here! These people are not mentally well. Upon checking in the room smelled like smoke and was filthy. The sheets had bloodstains and rips. There was dirt and grass all over the floor. We (prepaid) rented the room for a week, but 3 days before we were supposed to check out , there was a knock a the door. They said they were the housekeeper (which would have been great) but unfortunately, my husband and I were not dressed. My husband was naked getting a shower and I was in my nightgown. So I respectfully declined what I thought was housekeeping to come back later. Then the person said she needed to inspect the room and proceeded to try to force her way in. Luckily I had latched the room, but they were still able to force the door open partially anyway. This is ILLEGAL in Texas. By law, a motel cannot force their way into a room without first acquiring permissions from the occupant. The hotel room was my husband's and he never gave permission at any time for them to enter. Once in they accused us of smoking. We did not and told them we did not but they insisted we did anyway and threw us out. We found out that even before they tried to break into our room, they charged my husbands card. First charging 500 then 400 300 and finally the 200 dollar charge went through for a smoking fee also without our permission This is also illegal and fraudulent. DO NOT STAY THERE! They will make false accusations, try to break in your room, and then...
Read moreStayed for the weekend for a diving trip, front desk lady was very kind and very helpful, but on Saturday morning around 3:30 A.M I wake up to to someone trying to entering the room. Luckily the door latch was on or they would have entered in the room, well I get up and look around to look to see who tried to enter the room and I don’t see anyone. I walk out and see the employee and his friend walking down the stairs on the opposite side of the hotel. I try to look for the employee at the front desk and no one was present. I went ahead and walked back up stairs and see one of the employee and his friend entering room 203 to hear him saying “let me show you your room sir” loud so that I can hear him, as he laughing very loudly inside the room. I later go back down stairs to see both of the employee and his friend talking at the front desk, I ask him did you try to walk into room 202 and his reply was “no sir no one tried to enter that room” and I said are you sure? And he told me “yes sir I’ll have someone check the video cameras tomorrow morning. Well no one checked the cameras and no one was notified about the issue till I brought it to there attention. There’s an expectation of privacy in a hotel and especially at 3:30 in...
