Country Inn Steak & Seafood — Restaurant in Huntsville

Well we finally tried it after giving the benefit of the doubt on the outside being run down and looking closed. What a disaster. To start the one positive note is the inside is deceiving because it is actually pretty nice and tidy The lady that greeted us(Asian we think due to accent) was litterally dressed and appeared to be Kenny from South Parks mom or sister she had her hoodie up, mask on and draw string cinched down. Possibly so people do not recognize her outside of this establishment. The chicken fried chicken was disgusting and seemed microwaved or reheated cause it def was not fried or fresh The 2pc fish I got was supposed to be catfish and that was highly doubtful. It was clear and def not flakey It was possibly Tilapia The filets where squares and batter was nasty as well Tasted like old grease was in the fryer The baked potato was OK but than again, it’s just a baked potato right? The appetizer shrimp were ok and Cheese sticks where regular Cisco frozen garbage. Every time kenny cake to the table it seemed we were bothering her so we just paid and left ASAP Will never return and wonder how these places stay open You could literally go to HEB, get frozen shrimp from freezer section and frozen “Catfish” and fry it yourself and it would be better Not...

Ok so my sister highly recommended this place. And yes she right very tasty chicken fried steak. My son says one of the best he's ate. I went simpler and had the BLT. If Ur a BLT lover you would understand the more bacon the better. And obviously they agree. We had a tasty meal after a long drive. Now living in tx I aswel as others, know there really nothing to do for certain insects. But... I was very disappointed at the end. We waited on our server to bring CHK. While we waited I had moved the cracker basket and lone and behold the roaches ( not the waterbug kind ) started coming out on the table. The dining room had filled up while we were there so I quietly signaled for our server and pointed it out to her after we smashed it w a napkin. She literally was like ok and. So we paid our CHK and left . When I got out to my truck of course it had turned my tummy so much and lost my lunch. I realize in other countries these bugs may be a delicacy but not here. I will not return. As I do not like to eat or share my food with roaches or any other bugs. I can over look crickets in the breezeway and such as that cause after all this is Texas. But roach...

Dinner for my wife and I tonight. Parking lot was full upon arrival and around 12-14 tables were occupied. There was one waitress who was working hard for all the tables. She had a great attitude. There was one really nice gentleman who was bussing the tables. That was it. The frustrating part was there was one lady who was either management or owner who sat watching a video in the back corner of the restaurant while the one waitress was swamped. Never stepped in even when she occasionally walked by and tea glasses were empty etc. Then guess who was running the register, yes the waitress.

Food was nothing special. We had chicken fried steak that was a bit doughy and portions of steak were large but sides were skimpy. Salad was a small lettuce and one slice of tomato with a side of your dressing of choice.

I would have been ok with the food but for ownership/management to just watch while one waitress handled the entire restaurant said enough about their commitment to quality...
