Dakota Inn — Hotel in Huron

I was in town on business and everything in town was booked. I contacted the hotel desk in the morning and asked if there were vacancies. The gal told me there was 1 smoking and 1 non smoking room remaining. I said I would take the non smoking room and asked if they honored a corporate rate. She replied that they did and quoted a price. In the evening when I arrived, the gal at the front desk gave me a different rate. I told her of the quoted rate and she immediately agreed to honor that price. Then a man behind the counter who had overheard our conversation came over, identified himself as the owner, and raised his voice to the young lady saying that no one would have promised that rate. Everyone in town is booked. He was quite rude to her and then rudely confronted me asking who told me that rate. I described my conversation and he became more agitated, grabbed the phone and started calling the gal to verify my "story". He went back to the corner to talk and I apologized to the young lady saying I'm sorry he's treating you this way. I offered her my credit card and said to just charge me the regular rate. She was in the process when he returned and said in a very gruff voice, "just honor the rate". The rooms were so so. Clean, but not comfortable beds. Stayed here my first time pheasant hunting - PERFECT for the type of trip we were on. They are very welcoming and friendly! They accommodate dogs perfectly, plenty of room for two labs and two humans. The continental breakfast is definitely made with love and options vary daily which was a nice surprise! Oh and the coffee is delicious! ||||That was all great BUT I do think my favorite part was the bed. We got a king size double and I had the best sleeps of my life! Cozy, comfortable and spacious! ||||I see some reviewers left negative notes on the state of rooms or floors or whatever - anyone with hunting dogs should understand you are not going to a place comparable to the Ritz for the great price they charge. Even if I wasn't hunting I would stay if passing through though. Super affordable, safe, quiet and friendly! It's kind of like staying with family - but the family you actually LIKE and want to spend time with. 10/10...

This place was absolutely terrible! Mold on the walls, bugs, a/c in the room didn't work well one of the staff members moved me too different room and when I left to grocery store my wife called me and told me they were in my room harassing her about the things we had in our room that we were going through to load back in our trailer the manager said the air work is fine and he was not moving us after we were already approved to move I told him I wanted a refund he told me he wasn't going to do that so I left anyway without a refund he was trying to take pictures of my vehicle in my trailer as I stood in front of him blocking him the most disgusting behavior I've heard and seen out of an owner I recommend nobody to stay at this hotel filthy disgusting owners one of their employees was amazing and did her job right other than that it was a...
