Upon entering our room, we were deeply disappointed with the condition of the room. The curtains on the window were barely hanging on, with stains and dirt visible on the floor and box springs. The corners of the box spring had caved in, and the sheets and blankets were tucked into the holes on the top of the box spring. There was what appeared to be a bug or a blood chunk in the corner. Additionally, there was blood on the lampshade and feces on the wall. The corners of the bathroom were also dirty, with an unknown debris.
Given the unacceptable state of the room, I returned to the front desk to explain the situation and asked fir a clean room. Both staff members apoligized and gave us a new room. They even check to make sure it was clean.
In the newly assigned room, it was much better but entering the shower after we got back from dinner it was observed that the shower curtain rod had been pulled out and reinstalled a few inches out and not very stable, resulting in misalignment and the inability to keep the shower curtain closed effectively. Additionally, after showering, it was discovered that the towel, although clean, had noticeable yellow stains. Despite our fatigue, we decided to spend the night. However, upon waking the following morning, my husband nearly slipped in the bathtub then I an accumulation of black substance around the rim of the toilet bowl. We gathered our belongings and proceeded to the breakfast area.
I was informed that the hotel had run out of silverware, the breakfast options were limited to white bread, biscuits, waffles, yogurt, and butter. We left the dining room with only two waffles and a small amount of syrup.
I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise in the service industry. This experience left me with a negative impression of Choice Hotels, which I have previously recommended to our employees for their training trips due to their reputation for providing good quality and affordable accommodations.
The reason I would still consider refering is because the front desk staff really did what the could and i did recieve a call from the new manager to make it right.
In reference to our recent stay last night, I received a call from the new manager regarding our experience. He advised that the previous manager had abruptly resigned four days prior and sincerely apologized for any inconveniences encountered during our stay.
The new manager acknowledged concerns raised about the housekeeping staff's performance and assured me that he would address these matters with them. I took the opportunity to express my appreciation for the consistently positive experiences I have had at Choice hotels in the past.
I provided detailed information about the unacceptable accommodations and offered to share the photographs I had taken.
In order to rectify the situation, the manager offered additional loyalty points, a 20% refund of my stay in the form of a Visa gift card, and a full refund for our entire stay. He humbly requested our forgiveness for the shortcomings we experienced.
As individuals with experience in the service industry, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise. Our intention in bringing these matters to attention was to facilitate their resolution and ensure the continued high standards of the establishment. I appreciate the prompt attention and resolution provided by the new manager.

Read moreHere is the whole story:|So, I arrived in Indpls close to midnight and took a taxi from the airport to the hotel, the so-called Quality Inn on Harding St. Right away, I noticed it wasn't the one downtown within a block or two of the Flixbus stop that I had agreed to with the reservation center. This one was on the edge of Indpls near a truck stop and a bar closed because of criminal activity. It was seedy and dirty with a distraught woman at the desk surrounded by several other stranded customers. She was on the phone shouting and cursing talking I believe with a manager. She inrerrupted herself to ask my name and to tell me they had no room for me and there were several others in the same situation lined up before me. (It was already close to midnight and I am a 75-year old woman.) And yes, I had a confirmed reservation and yes I had called to say I would be arriving late because my plane had been delayed and yes the reservation agent had reassured me after checking with Quality Inn that it would be OK to arrive any time, but no there was no room for me: she was there alone, several rooms were locked because no one had cleaned them and there was no one to help her and there were others waiting Back to her manager on the phone: @*&$#, why am I here alone? Back to me; you can sit over there if you wish to wait--an adjacent room with rickety tables and chairs and a blaring TV on the wall and cockroaches that you sense even when they are not visible. A young man was lurking there who had a room and wanted a key replaced because his was not working but was afraid to ask.|I sat down with three other men with backpacks in the "breakfast area" and I first called the reservation center. I explained that they had already cashed the $147 room charge and there was no room for me there. They looked for a room in the surrounding area and didn't find anything. They asked if I wanted to cancel and I did in the hopes of getting a refund. Among those stranded with me were two very nice professional Nascar racecar drivers who tried to help me find a room. They had a race the following day in Indianapolis. One was doing a beer run for the two of them and joking that they would need it after this hotel craziness. They found hotel rooms for themselves but couldn't help me. I called a series of hotels and finally found a room at the Crown Plaza for an exorbitant price. It was 2 am by then and I managed to get an Uber to get there. This all happened on the night of...
Read moreI'm giving them five stars in grading them on the curve based on the assumption that anyone reading this review already realizes that this isn't in the same class as a Hilton or Trump Tower, right? I may not have written this review except for the fact I wanted to counteract the unfair poor ratings some others have left here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place. I experienced none of the negative things some other people whined about. It was clean and quiet. Based on some of the comments I had seen from others I lifted the mattress up around all sides looking for bed bugs but there aren't any. The commode flushed fine. The staff was courteous. The breakfast was fine. Yesterday it was these wonderful omelets with a tangy cheese filling and flavorful sausage links and included waffles, muffins, Danish, toast, oatmeal, dry cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, cream cheese, and the best coffee I've ever had in lodging facilities. They have real half & half to cream it with. This morning it was scrambled egg and bacon with the other stuff I mentioned about yesterday's breakfast. I detected no smell of mold or mildew that a few other reviewers mentioned. The quality level together with the modest price make this place an excellent value. When I check out tomorrow morning I will have been here three nights. UPDATE I have down graded them from five stars to four. I would have given 3.5 if possible but felt it would be unfair to drop all the way to three. The quality of the breakfast has diminished. Gone are the flavorful little omelets with the tangy cheese filling. Neither does the sausage seem as flavorful as it did several months ago. The first morning of this visit they didn't have a drop of coffee in the lobby at 6:30 am. I hoped that was a fluke, but the next morning at the same time there was no coffee again. The three days and nights I was there I was never able to get as much as a half cup of ice no matter how many times I pushed the lever. Really, now that I think about it, I should have dropped them to...
