BAD BUSINESS. Purchased a sectional and ottoman. No one called me to schedule a delivery. The delivery driver called me and said he was 20 mins from my house and I had to ask what he was delivering. Also didn’t tell me my ottoman was not with it. When I called Alex he said it was on back order. Couple weeks go by without hearing anything so I stopped by the store to ask about it again and he said he’d try to have it delivered before Christmas which also didn’t happen. It took a month after my couch was delivered for the ottoman to come in. Alex called and asked me if I wanted to come pick up the ottoman which I told him, “no that’s why I paid $150 delivery fee.” We ordered the big ottoman but the medium with storage was delivered. I called him and he said all the ottomans were $399 no matter size (I was charged $459) and the bigger one would not look right with my couch because it’s too big. That’s cool but I’m the one to make that decision. He offered to switch them out. In the end I just kept the medium ottoman because I didn’t want to wait for another delivery. He gave me $100 cash back after several times of me telling him I needed a refund for the mix up. While I was at the store to pick up the $100 I asked why Koalafi was pulling payments out of my account instead of me making them myself he told me to call Koalafi. This is where it gets more interesting. I asked for cash price which was $2,008 and Alex offered a 4 month Same As Cash plan and he said, “you can pay $500 a month for 4 months.” Cool. I agreed to it because who wants to give up their cash when you can just do this over a few months instead with no interest or fees. Upon calling the finance company to see why they were pulling payments because it would not let me in the portal or send me a link to make a new password I see I’ve paid $1,250 and my pay off is $1,006. That’s a total of $2,256 so where did this extra $248 come from?? Was not told the store didn’t charge sales tax because Koalafi charges it. Koalafi will tell you it’s in your lease agreement (and it is but was not verbally mentioned which according to Alex he did tell me this) it was more so withheld. I also signed for it to be pulled from my checking account so no card fees. Looking at my Koalafi account they started pulling from my debit card after my 2nd payment because they said it wouldn’t pull from my checking account which is the same account my debit card they have been charging is linked to and they have been charging me 3% for every payment that they are pulling but when I asked why no one called me they said, “We don’t call customers”. Keep in mind I was told this was not a payment plan. I could make my own payments online. Yes, I should have read the agreement but I ask a lot of questions to be sure what I’m getting and what is required of me. Called Alex again to go over what Koalafi said and asked him to make it right for none of it being discussed. He told me i signed the agreement and that he did go over everything, he already gave me a $100 which hurt his sales and he wasn’t refunding anything. Told me this was bullsh*t, he’s already delivered to my house twice (not sure how that would be my fault), I’m a difficult customer and to take him to court.
I should have read the reviews...
Read moreAVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! IF I COULD RATE 0 STARS I WOULD. We purchased a couch from this store with the “help” of a man named Alex. He tried to sell us the couch for cash but then we agreed on making payments for the couch. We agreed on the total amount of $1,089.00 for 12 months. We have only had this couch for 7 months and have paid $1,526.70 (the money automatically came out of our account by Koalafi) when we noticed that we over-payed, we contacted Alex and he said it has nothing to do with him and to contact Koalafi. We contacted Koalafi and they said that it says in our contract that we owe $2,669 for this couch that was TORN!! We didn’t notice it was torn until AFTER it was delivered. WE NEVER SEEN A CONTRACT OR HAD ANY POSITION OF A CONTRACT UNTIL after 7 months of having the couch and we received the contract from Koalafi and NOT ALEX!!! Why would we pay $2,669 for a couch when we were told we would pay $1,089 in 12 months. The contract was “electronically signed” which Alex MUST HAVE DID after he went over what we would be paying. Which was $1,089. SAVE YOURSELF! Right now we are taking other precautions regarding this matter but I wanted to warn others, especially since I am seeing many other people going through the same exact...
