Maximum respect & props & double exploding fist bump to your establishment from a couple of bucket list dreamers over in America's high five, the magnificent Mitten that is Michigan. As young men, it was a yearly trip (as well as right of passage to be invited to ones first trout camp as a young teenager), for the men to rendezvous with each other, from all around the country, at my Uncle' Norm's(my late father's [prayers, peace, & love pop; RIP] late older brother [prayers, respect, & love Unc, may the brown's smash your flies every cast, and your F-line never snag) in SLC and caravan to the Miracle Mile. In my 20's I played drums in a band, which allowed me the opportunity to see a lot of the country, but nothing ever has (and likely never will) even come remotely close to the absolute pure majestic beauty that is the treasure known as the Miracle Mile.
Now, today, its been 25 or 26 years since our last trout camp trip on the mile. My S.O.'s favorite thing to watch is anything about animals, especially anything featuring Sir David Attenborough. She's been to the Rockies in CO and the Dakota's before, but only in a professional capacity as an "HR Attorney ", a.k.a. the face that represents the despicable, shameful, morally and legally questionable oil company. Basically, ifshe was on the property/site, its bad news for someone cuz its about to be an employees last day or a vendor is about to get dry F'd out of nowhere, and vendors/contractors will get screwed out of a job, usually without pay, but also sometimes in deep predatory debt. She'd then sulk back to her fancy hotel room she could never afford on her own dime and sob over having to do something so terrible in a place so beautiful.
Now i have a massive hole in my heart, another matching one in my soul, like a missing piece of a puzzle, and the image is the Miracle Mile, below the dam, waking up to moo cows surrounding camp, and eagles snatching fish up on the wing. After a day of throwing flies with my family, taking a quad ride to Pathfinder Reservoir, having a quiet heart to heart with my lost family, who I miss dearly. Then settling into a blanket and watching the sun slowly sink below below the mountains beyond the reservoir, finding peace, serenity, and tranquility with the two most beautiful sights in the world---- the true God's Country, passed on to me from my father and uncles, and my family-- my wife and son who I can now hopefully pass the Mile on to next. This is my dream, and with luck, Ill have the means & ability to come stay with you guys. My wife picked you r place out while playfully planning a dream vacation we hope to afford some day. Dont let the trolls trying to trick and deceive and defraud you get you down, because there are still people out there like myself, who cherish the Platte on a deep, indescribable, vusceral level. And with hope, luck, and faith, you'r gorgeous jewel of the destination will have a place in our hearts, as part of an unforgettable memory and tradition, done the right way, with...
Read moreIf you’re on the fence, TRUST US - it’s worth it!!|We just got back from a 4 night stay in the Bear Den, and we have nothing but amazing things to say about the Teton View - but to keep it short, here’s our 5 best reasons to stay: |1. The Location - want a spot with a gorgeous view of the Tetons, a wildlife corridor in the backyard, just a few minutes from the National Park, without all the crowds of downtown Jackson Hole? Look no further. It has great access to all the excitement of downtown, while still feeling like you’re on the frontier|2. The Property - several options for whatever stay you’d like. A cabin? A suite? A bonafide old west wagon? They have it all! Our stay in the Bear Den gave us cabin vibes, with two beautiful balconies. The facilities are clean, modern, and cozy.|3. The Hosts - Carol and Franz are exactly what comes to mind when you think of true Bed’n’Breakfast hosts. They are thoughtful and kind, full of amazing suggestions and inside knowledge of the area, and they both have amazing life stories if you get the chance to ask them. |4. The Feel - Traditional BnB with cozy vintage cabin vibes. We stayed in the summer and thought it was perfect, but I imagine it’s even better on a snowy day. It was the perfect refuge after a long day of hiking and outdoor adventures.|5. The Extras - if that hasn’t sold you yet, then how about a steamy hot tub on a cold night? Or fresh pastries in the morning? How about ice cold fresh mountain water from their own well? Or guaranteed wildlife sightings while you drink your coffee on the balcony? There’s also great WiFi, the occasional treats put out throughout the day, maps and guides for the area, and more. ||Seriously, thank you to Carol and Franz for making our stay feel even...
Read moreThe Teton View Bed and Breakfast owned and managed by Carol and Franz Kessler is AMAZING!
We stayed in the cabin during the last juncture of our vacation. Carol welcomed us a little earlier than the stated check-in time and was extremely gracious to us. We had the opportunity to meet Blanca, their beautiful white Great Pyrenees, at the same time.
Carol and Franz provided excellent insider/local tips information about how to most effectively navigate Jackson Hole and the two national parks, Grand Teton and Yellowstone.
The cabin itself is cute and was very clean. It includes a stove, small refrigerator with icebox , microwave, and a large sink. There are dishes, pots and pans, glassware, utensils. Everything one needs to cook if you want to during your stay.
There is plenty of room to stretch out, chill, sleep, etc. The bed is extremely comfortable which is so veer important after long days hiking in the parks or around the local area. The WiFi also worked quite well so we could keep in touch with friends and family as well as do our own research online.
The breakfasts are out of this world! Carol and Franz are both extremely talented chefs/bakers. They alternate sweet and savory breakfasts daily which also include fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, and the option of freshly ground coffee each morning.
During breakfast they aptly bring discussion amongst all of their guests to share experiences and tidbits of information of where they may view local wildlife.
We will absolutely stay with Carol and Franz when we return to Jackson Hole.
We could not have had a better experience than when visiting Teton View Bed and Breakfast!!!
Bravo and brava, Franz and Carol! And, most...
