My wife and I stayed here for one night in August 2017 on a driving holiday. When we arrived it was throwing it down with rain after a huge storm, but the hosts were so welcoming and helped us with getting the luggage out of the car in the pouring rain. They told us to treat the place as home, which was such a lovely approach, and we spent some time just chatting to them in the lounge as they were so friendly.||||The house and rooms are quite 'old-fashioned' and there was no air-con or fridge in the room, but they said I could use their fridge to keep my two beers in and even offered me a glass to use. Our room (Paleo) had a ceiling fan which worked well. The bed was very comfy, there was an en-suite bathroom with free standing bath tub and a powerful shower and nice toiletries.||||The breakfast was tasty and filling and all cooked to order, with a good menu including eggs, home fries and toast, or pancakes, or Texas French Toast, with all options coming with sausage or bacon. The hostess showed us around the house and we looked at her new hens, which were expected to provide the eggs for the breakfasts in future. How cool! The B&B is set in some very pretty countryside, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. ||||Highly...
Read moreWe had an amazing stay at Applebrook. I don’t have enough words to admire Priscilla for being a wonderful host and her attention to details!! As soon as we entered her place, we felt welcomed, she offered us hot tea, there were several options of high quality tea bags to choose from. We were offered option of a bigger room due to a no show which we happily accepted. She was also very knowledgeable about places to explore. Her home was squeaky clean, tastefully decorated for fall (see pictures) smelled delicious with candles and of course her baking (pumpkin bread, chocolate chip cookies, muffins, 4 varieties of home made bread- wheat, white, raisin, oatmeal) not forgetting to mention the huge selection of breakfast— she made sure that we have enough to eat being vegetarian that she inquired about the night before. I surely made some great memories and would cherish the coziness, warmth, and return back (hopefully soon! The breakfast and homemade soap was cherry on top. ||Highly recommend if you are in area for a couple getaway, a family weekend or even a family trip. I can keep going on & on... Priscilla is truly hostess...
Read moreWe took our children and grandchildren for a four day vacation to Applebrook. All 18 of us enjoyed the spacious home. There was enough room to spread out. The adult children watched movies and enjoyed board games in the large living room while the grandchildren played in a nearby room equipped with lots of toys. The kitchen is well stocked with any appliance you may wish for, even a bread maker! There is an awesome coffee bar with a kettle for tea and cocoa. It snowed while we were there and the younger children enjoyed sliding in the yard with their sleds and making snowmen. We visited the town of Littleton and found the world’s largest candy store, Chutters. The children also enjoyed tubing at Great Glen Trails, which is about 20 minutes away. All in all, a wonderful weekend spent making...
