Old Corner Store — Local services in Jefferson

I'm sorry to say, the deli and the customer service has gone way down. A month ago I was ordering a Greek salad a few times a week. One night when I got home to eat, there wasn't any feta cheese on my salad. I called and told them. I asked if I could pick up a new one the next day because it was late and hopefully comped. The girl said, "you ordered a Greek salad and that's what you got, so no." I said, "a Greek salad has feta cheese on it." Her response was this: next time you order this salad, we'll give you double the feta cheese on it. I don't want that much feta on my salad so I asked to speak with the owner. They're on vacation and aren't available. That's all I can do for you. Not even an apology. I never ordered a Greek salad again. Tonight I ordered a steak and cheese. The sub was cold, the cheese wasn't melted and I asked for lettuce, did not get lettuce. Again, I'm sorry! I love the store and the 'regular' staff. But, the deli is not what it was a few...

I was on my way back to Vermont from Maine I was out of gas and out of money and the man who was working at the store came around and ran his own personal debit card for gas for me I thought that was such a wonderful thing to do and I asked him if I could pay him back he wouldn't let me he just wanted to help and it was great on my journey which was one of being lost and I felt very alone by the time you know I only had $2.50 to put in for gas and still had a hundred miles to go and this man made my day thank you I don't know your name but I'm pretty sure this is the place...

The most impressive thing about this place is how clean the outdoor bathroom is. As far as the ambience inside the store, as a leftover from bygone years, it would be really cool but...it is not because of all the impolite young 20ish girls they have working the counter and making the pizza. The pizza is overpriced like twice that of Dominos and is the same makings as a Dominos' but the taste is not right. Was so disappointed and probably will never return because the girls in there practically chase you out of the store and leave you with zero desire to...
