I just spent 7/13-7/16 at the Sandpiper/Beachfront Tower and cannot rave enough about it. I had read many reviews after my initial booking and it caused me to cancel my reservation. After much debate, I rebooked and I am so glad I did! The reviews I read did not match my experience one bit. The main resort was where check-in occurred as there is no "official" lobby desk at the Beachfront Tower. The girl at the desk (did not learn her name by my own mistake, not her) was very friendly and took care of me fast and efficiently, while under a lot of pressure due to an emergency taking place at that time. I arrived much earlier than check-in and she was able to provide me my room. I did not know I was a Bonvoy Member and she explained this to me. Brian, who shuttled me over to my location was very outgoing and gave insight to information I was unaware of and explained tidbits of help. There was a Publix just up the street and if I wanted to grocery shop the shuttle service would provide help in picking me up and getting my groceries. My room was located on the 3rd floor facing the bridge direction and was absolutely beautiful. Very modern updates, extremely clean, air conditioning worked great, the ceiling fan provided extra air flow, the bathroom and sink area well stocked and very clean. I was pleasantly surprised to find a full kitchen and set-up (dishes, silverware, glasses, full sink/soap/sponge, pots/pans, cooking utensils, microwave, coffee maker well stocked, stovetop, dishwasher, counter space, cabinets and drawers.) I don't know if I overlooked this when booking, but this was a great surprise to find. The room was for myself only and very comfortable with a lot of storage, desk/chair, comfortable chair to relax in with ottoman and side table and space even if there were two people. The bed was extremely large (king) and comfortable. Lots of pillows which I love and a big fluffy comforter. I had a balcony view of the bridge direction which had a chair and stool and decent space to enjoy the sunset or a cup of coffee. The only negative of my room if this counts was a larger than normal space between the door and floor which allowed noise to come through but this was easily rectified by placing a rolled towel on the floor and blocked all the noise out. There was an open area looking down at a waterfall/stream and sitting area with open air access to the outdoors. It was a very relaxing atmosphere. I loved sitting downstairs later at night and even on the patio by the main entrance. It felt very safe at night and the entire hotel was well lit. Access to the pool area was locked at appropriate times and accessible by key card only. My goal of this trip was to have access to the beach and bar and it lived up to it. I did not request a beach view but the access was right there. I got food at the Tiki Bar (fantastic burger and awesome fries) to bring up to my room for dinner. The beach itself was beautiful!! Lots of chairs, umbrellas and towels available on a Sunday and throughout the days I was there. The lounge chairs are huge and comfortable and the towels fluffy and good sized. The staff taking care of this area were very accommodating and answered any questions throughout my stay and very helpful. I'm sure on a full weekend it is far busier, but there was no shortage of any items. There were lots of ammenities offered and traveling with family or friends we would definitely take advantage of them from the duck pin bowling, arcade, ping pong by the pool or surfing lessons to name a few. Everything was clean and well kept throughout the whole property. I was there for the beach and I got the beach! I took advantage of the breakfast package at the Baha Grille and walked to the main resort daily to get my food to-go at the buffet style set-up. Staff was friendly and provided all supplies and beverages. Food was typical breakfast offerings with made-to-order items and very tasty and filling. I did not utilize the shuttle service even though it was readily available as I enjoyed the short walk and views of the golf course. I did walk the grounds at the main resort but did not eat at Latitudes or use their pool as my location had everything I desired. Because check-in is at the main resort, the Sandpiper/Beachfront Tower gave a more private feeling not having the hustle and bustle of a lobby setting. I was glad I called before my traveling to make sure I was at the Beachfront Tower because they let me know to check-in at the main resort and then I'd be shuttled over to my room, otherwise I would have had my Uber driver bring me to the Beachfront and would have been lost as the only staff I saw was housekeeping. Speaking of housekeeping, many reviews I read stated they did not provide good service. I, myself, did not utilize them as I'm neat and organized, but they were easily accessible and provided me with extra towels, water and coffee pods when requested and were available easily and friendly. This solo getaway was what I needed to recharge my health and the image in my head met all my expectations and beyond. The negative reviews I read on this and other booking sites did concern me and caused me to cancel my original booking. I am so glad I chanced this because it was PERFECT!! I am already looking into booking for late August or early September and this will be my go-to spot when visiting Hutchinson Island. This was the perfect beach getaway and 100% fulfilled everything I was...

Our experience at your hotel was absolutely horrific and we would never stay there again. The list of complaints is long but here are a few:||1. I am a Platinum Elite Bonvoy member and yet I was not provided with an upgraded room or points in lieu of the failure to upgrade. I also did not receive a welcome amenity. I asked several times about my benefits and no one ever followed through. I have yet to receive those mandatory points in my account. It is my understanding that the failure to provide these points is a violation of Marriott policy.||2. I specifically requested a high floor (most importantly so that we could keep the young cousins in close proximity to each other and without needing stairs or an elevator to visit) and yet I was booked on the second floor while they were booked on the fourth floor. When I contacted hotel management about the failure to honor my very important request, I did not receive quality customer service. I know that if your room management system worked better, this could have been easily accomplished. We ended up switching rooms with my parents, who also stayed at your hotel, and notified the front desk of our room change. The room change was never updated in the system, which created all sorts of additional problems during our stay.||3. Online, it says that the hotel was recently renovated with a multi-million dollar budget. This was clearly false advertising as the Beach Tower was old and decrepit. The only thing that might have been done was fresh paint on old walls. ||4. The carpets in our room were disgustingly dirty. The furniture was stained (e.g., the living room chair had a disgusting stain under the seat pillow). Your carpets should be professionally cleaned each week. This clearly wasn't done as our feet were black after walking on your carpets. This was not safe or hygienic for our young children. Also, the paint on the walls was chipping (which is a serious health hazard) and there was rust on the doors and in the bathrooms.||5. The front door to our room was disgusting. It needs to be replaced, badly, and only worked half of the time. We would sometimes have to shove the weight of our entire body to get our front door to open.||6. The maid service at your hotel was, without question, the worst cleaning service I have ever experienced in all of my years of travel. I am a huge Marriott customer and so the experience with your maids was disturbing and shocking.|--we could not schedule cleaning service for any set time|--the maids would come to "clean" and we would return to find a dirty room|--There was one day during our trip where we came back to our room at 4pm to discover that the maid never came. We called and they said they would send someone right away. The maid NEVER came. We next called and asked for a vacuum so that we could, at the very least, clean our dirty floors. They said they would be bringing the vacuum and then it never arrived. We called several times, and no one ever brought the vacuum. |--After the maid came, two days in a row, the floor was still noticeably dirty. It was actually quite disgusting.|--There was one occasion where I came back to the room while the maid was "cleaning" and I found her hanging out in our kitchen chatting on her cell phone (clearly having a personal phone call not related to work). While chatting on the phone, she was using one hand to barely clean. It was ridiculous. I also know that she had already been in our room "cleaning" for hours because I saw her arrive and yet when I came back hours later the room was still dirty. My guess is that she was hanging out and not cleaning our room for an hour or two or more.|--Our room was NEVER properly cleaned during our entire stay. Even when it was cleaned, it was still dirty.|--We were often left without kleenex or toilet paper|--Dirty stains and spills were left visible on the counters, table, under the table, and kitchen. Anyone with two eyes could have seen that the room needed to be cleaned better and yet the maid "missed" it.||7. There were many service requests that were made by us and never fulfilled. For example, there was one evening where they forgot to deliver a crucial item to our room and they said they were "coming" to drop it off and then they NEVER came.||8. Our room was missing many items. We did not have proper items in our kitchen. We did not even have a wine opener. We did not have soap in our showers.||9. The towel service at the pool was an absolute joke. The pool attendant was never there. During our 6 day visit, I only saw the towel guy inside the towel hut once. The rest of the time, I had to access the towel hut on my own. Many other hotel guests commented on this same experience. For five days we asked....does the towel person even exist?||10. The hotel has only a few dozen umbrellas for hundreds of hotel guests. As a result, the umbrellas would run out every day. Absolutely absurd.||11. The food at the breakfast spot was barely edible. We skipped several days because it wasn't worth it to eat their breakfast, even though it was free (since we had vouchers).||12. Whenever we placed a call to make a request to the hotel (or even to simply ask a question), it was rare for anyone to answer. I would say that my calls to the operator/front desk went unanswered approximately 70% of the time.||13. We could not get your wifi to work. ||I would NEVER...

We had planned this trip in advance-a long over due vacation. The grandfather of my children lives in this area and we were hoping this would be a place we could plan to come to over and over again b/c we only live a few hours away, being able to have a “spot” for frequent visits with kids was what we were hoping for. Our 1st room, water on the floor, it soaked my children’s suitcase that had their clothes and bedtime books. Result:new room. Around bedtime however with small children, I realized there were ANTS-all around the tv console area. I went to ask the front desk to solve this problem, we were not offered a new room, nor did we want to have to relocate again at bedtime.I asked for someone to clean the room.Simple. Workers that came to clean that evening said it wasn’t their job to move a dresser or rug to clean thoroighly, that it would be the day staff. So,next day, I asked the front again for someone to make sure it was cleaned. I could tell after returning from pre-booked plans that the dresser nor rug were moved, I don’t think they cleaned at all. That evening ants had migrated from the t.v. area to the table between the beds, I realized because I literally had an ant crawling on my neck while sitting in bed, ants are on the lamp. I had to trash my children’s snacks.I took it upon myself to get supplies to clean my room to make it habitable. Junk behind the dresser is still there, too heavy for me to move. They have an ant problem 100%. We also were not told about towel cards for the pool, another guest told us, and through our 5 night stay, we found other families were asking us how we got towels and pool noodles. You would think a basic thing like this is communicated when you get a room card.Breakfast vouchers were the only compensation offered for the ant problem initially. The breakfast area is loud, you have to plan for an hour if you are going to eat there.Upon arriving at 9:15am and being told that it would take until 10:00am at least for us to be seated and be served, breakfast onsite became impractical. When booking the reservation, we had requested a lower floor, but we’re placed on the top floor from the beginning. The door to our room would not close itself, you have to make sure you turn the handle for it to properly shut. We also arrived to our room with one half used roll of toilet paper and no backups, nearly empty shower soap and the smaller wash towels were not on their shelf, but on the floor under the sink back by the wall. You could tell when searching for them the floor under the bathroom sink had not been cleaned in a while, thus there was no way I’d be using those and had to request fresh towels. TV remote barely functioned, Netflix lagged from the internet and the tv notified us that it was outdated to the point where certain functions were unavailable. The elevator nearest to us stopped working 2 different mornings that I am aware of, and this included 1 morning where I had to fetch a birthday cake and balloons, sure would have been nice to be able to take the elevator by my room that morning. We will not be returning, did not feel like this was a “resort” but a cheap hotel- and at $253 per night- not worth it. I stayed in a dozen hotels last summer on a month long road trip for my mothers funeral across the country, and the interstate hotels were cleaner. We will be in this area frequently to visit and will be seeking out other facilities to stay at. 2stars ONLY because my son had a great time at the pool and ONE staff member made him feel special ONE time. One star is for her, she was a waitress in the dining area. In the midst of all of the things that were not going right, the general filth I had to clean, Eileen did refund our resort fees.~$150 dollars, but take out the cleaning supplies I purchased, and the snacks we trashed, the fact I will have to triple clean everything thing we brought to ensure no bugs come into my own home, it isn’t much. If I had not planned a packed schedule of activities for this vacation I would have tried to...
