After missing the turn because it looks like a Century 21 office (hotel shares a buiding with them), I walked into the lobby to find the little office window closed and a sign saying to hit the buzzer in the entry for service. I was leary and decided to keep staying at the other hotel in town. I'm glad I paused because Rich came down the stairs (yep, he heard the jingle bell on the entry door). He gave me a friendly welcome and offered to show me a room. Up the creaky stairs and past the big dearhead we go. Old school keys to enter but no cheap low end bedspreads here - nice thick soft comforters. Super clean room. Towels were much better than the chain hotel. Read moreMy husband & I stayed at Frontier Lodge (aka Harvest Inn), Jerseyville, Ill., for 4 nights. Very comfortable and pleasant. Manager went out of his way to provide whatever we asked ... we had the one handicapped accessible room and wanted a fridge and microwave, so he made those available for us. We were the only guests during most of the week, but it was okay being we were out and about visiting sites. Close proximity to where we wanted to go and even close to St. Louis if you wanted a no frills place to stay for an inexpensive rate. Laundromat right next door, which was quite convenient, plus lots of restaurants, churches, etc., to choose from. ||||Only motel recommendations we'd make are brighter lighting or perhaps painting the walls a lighter color; stronger water pressure in shower; small table next to bathroom sink and a box of tissues in room. ||||If we return to the area, we would definitely stay...
