We have stayed here several years ago and that is why we went back. This time we still had a good stay. We stayed in a handicap room due to my husbands mobility issues. The roll in shower was one of the better ones we have stayed in because the water did not roll back into the bathroom floor. We were thankful for that because we had no risk of a fall from slipping.|The room was smaller than we were use to and it only had an office chair to sit in (no easy chair or recliner). We did ask if they had a recliner for my husband and they were able to bring one into the room. That made our stay more comfortable. |The bed and pillows were comfortable for us. Room was clean and no smell/odor. |Staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the check-in and check out online through email. Made it easier and check in was quick this way - only had to wait for the room key|There was a lamp that had an issue but the gentleman at the desk looked at it and brought in a new bulb. That did not fix it so it was the lamp. Without the extra lamp it made the room a little darker but we were able to get by for the evening without it.|I would suggest you bring a USB hub and/or an extension cord. The room is not equipped for extra plug ins for cell phones/tablet/other equipment chargers. I had to unplug the microwave to plug in cpap machines. This is an older hotel and has not been updated much over the years.|Breakfast: It is a simple quick breakfast - cereal, toast, bagel, fruit cups, yogurt, instant oatmeal and waffles. Juice, coffee, hot tea and milk. |Internet and TV...
Read more"It Matters where you Stay!" Unfortunately, there are not alot of choices for nearby hotels in this immediate area. Our family was hosting an event in Jerseyville and we wanted to be close. This hotel is clean but is dated with faded photos, outdated TVs, and furniture. When we were there, a disabled car with no plates outside in the parking lot near the front door. When we booked we asked if we would be able to check out later since I had family hosting an event at this location. We needed to be able to keep our small dogs in the room. We offered we were willing to pay additional fees. Unfortunately, despite the hotel seemed to be half empty, we were told we could not stay longer than 11am even if we paid additional fees. I expressed that I was not happy. I ended up staying in my car for 4 hours with my little dogs while the gathering took place. Later that week, my card was charged for a $40 dollar pillow claiming we stole it. What pillow costs $40 in a hotel? We did not take a pillow! We are very honest and argued the validity. The staff refused to check or correct. I do not believe the staff were honest; and I have concerns about the trustworthiness. I see in former reviews there were issues with random charges and possible theft with others too. I am sure next time I will stick with a better brand even if I...
Read moreHotel was mostly clean and comfortable. It has been semi updated, but most important it was pretty clean. We did have a decent sized hole in our blanket on the bed. I also had a nice hole in my bath towel. There was also a piece of toilet paper stuck in the peel hole for the door that must have been left from a prior visitor. Do not count on using hotel shampoo/soap. The shampoo and conditioner were miss match but did okay just very small for the number of people we had. No body wash and the soap didn’t really suds up and was very gritty. Like washing with sandpaper. If you need more towels you have to carry your dirty towels to the front desk and hand them to the clerk who doesn’t wear gloves or anything. Seems really odd for an extra towel. Breakfast is great for carb loading. Waffles, oatmeal, cereal, toast, and bagels. They did however have delicious blueberry or apply topping for the waffles and...
