Husband, pregnant wife, and toddler booked room directly on courtyard by Marriott site. After having to change rooms immediately upon checkout due to filthy room with beer/alcohol bottles left everywhere, second room had trash on floor.. When being woken up by banging on the door the next morning- in regards to âfire alarm issueâ from supposedly 12 hours prior (previous night)-staff threatened to force entry into room after being asked to let us get dressed. After visiting front desk in regards to said âfire alarm issueâ was denied speaking to âmanagerâ and told there was no further issue.. only to have police show up to room 10 minutes later. After inviting officer in and discussing reason for visit he had little knowledge as to why police were called by management.. and confirmed there was no misconduct. Originally booked 2 nights, but decided best to check out after incident. Upon checking out asked for managerâs explanation of above events and was greeted by extremely an unprofessional âmanagerâ that claimed we would be not be getting deposit back due to âsmell of potâ in room. When that accusation was denied police were called back out hotel and âmaintenance & food and beverageâ employees that claimed they smelled such made threats and accusations. Police ended up responding and assisting with room inspection and it was resulted that no such smell or reason to believe unauthorized behavior was performed and I was insured I would receive whole deposit refunded. Upon leaving hotel, total charges for 2 night stay (one of which should be refunded due to early checkout) was increased by $50 and additional charge of an unexplained $35+ charge is pending card. Will follow up on how charges are handled⌠but for the price of this hotel and the expected reputation of Marriott, we were extremely let down and disappointed. Will not be booking any related hotel in the future and do not recommend. The whole situation was degrading and could have easily been avoided or handled differently at best. Tread lightly and donât have too high of...

Read moreWe stayed here for two days, and the first two front desk women we interacted with were wonderfulâkind, respectful, and understanding of our neurodivergent children. They were compassionate about the fact that our home was damaged in a hurricane and that we were simply looking for a brief reprieve.
Unfortunately, our final experience was the exact opposite. When I went down to get a luggage cart, I didnât put shoes on my two-year-old because of his neurodivergence. It hadnât been an issue the entire stay. This time, the woman at the desk immediately and aggressively told me he could not be there without shoes. I calmly tried to explain, but she doubled down in an unkind, escalating tone. I complied, immediately went upstairs, got shoes, and came back.
When I returned, I politely mentioned that her approach had felt unnecessarily harsh. That offended her, and she began fussing at me. I asked her to stop and told her that I had already complied, but she continued to escalate. She then told me I didnât have the right to explain how I felt, and if I didnât stay quiet, she would kick us out.
Within secondsâdespite the fact that I had not raised my voice or been threatening in any wayâshe called the police and had corporate trespass my family. I was not arrested because there was no cause, but the experience was shocking, humiliating, and disturbing.
I want to be clear: this is not a family-friendly hotel. The woman at the front desk (late 40s, short curly black hair, heavy makeup, thin build) treated us with hostility and disrespect during a time when we were already under immense stress. For a hotel employee in a calm, air-conditioned space to harass a small family who had already complied with her request was unacceptable.
We will never...
