The Pointe Hotel was truly a gem. I was searching for a hotel anywhere from Delray Beach up to Jupiter for a weekend getaway. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale and had an event in Palm Beach so wanted to find a place that was fairly convenient. I stumbled upon The Pointe in my search online. It looked like a great value compared to everything else. The only thing holding me back from booking right away and was the late night drive from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. Regardless, I kept coming back to the pretty pictures and finally the military rate sold me. We gave it a shot and boy I'm glad we did. From the moment we arrived, we were in heaven. It was worth every extra late night mile on the road and some!
For what it's worth, I worked in luxury hospitality for 10 years. The Pointe was second to none.
First, it was unusual because of it's small and accessible size. It felt like a brand new inn with a family touch. Easy in, easy out. Everything was clean, freshly painted, light, and airy. The color palette was so beautiful and beachy. The decor was tasteful, light-hearted, and homey. It felt like a joyful and uplifting place to be.
Second, the location was incredible right on the beach and intercoastal waterway. I recommend splurging a little more for room overlooking the water. We could not believe how beautiful the view was. We are active so being right on the water was incredible for us. We walked right out the door and were able to jump in kayaks and jet skis. We had an absolute blast. The water in that location was such a pretty color of green and to have such easy access to it was such a treat. There was easy access to food either on foot or a quick drive away. Perfect for us.
Third, the service was wonderful. The team made us feel like family and right at home. Our room was tended to beautifully. We even got to meet the owner who was incredibly welcoming and curious how our stay was going. Seeing us beaming, he asked what we enjoyed most about it. To me, this is a sign ownership really cares about the guest experience and it shows in every detail.
We didn't want to leave and were very sad when the time came. It was such a memorable stay and we can't wait to go back. The Pointe is hands down a new...
Read moreWe stayed at The Pointe for four nights in one of their Premier Waterfront Suites and we really enjoyed our time there. Our room was new, spacious, and clean, with very comfortable bedding. The patio even had its own fan and lighting. The bathroom was huge and shower was large with great water pressure. The view is fantastic and the private beach is quiet with clean, clear waters and soft sand.
Some things to be aware of: The rooms in this category do not all have the same size patio/deck, and do not all have their own sun loungers as shown in the photos, but there are plenty to use on the beach. If you’re on the first floor, you’ll have people walking by on the grounds fairly often.
They do offer room service, but it’s through delivery from the Blue Pointe Bar and Grill - and they add a 20% delivery charge, which the restaurant did not inform us of when we called. We ordered from there on Friday night as the restaurant itself was closed to the public for a private event - the QR code for online ordering doesn’t work, the menu in our room didn’t have accurate pricing, and the service was slow.
The hotel itself was quiet during our stay but you can hear the music from Blue Pointe and Tiki 52 quite clearly even with the doors shut.
Our room did not have a dresser, just end tables with one large drawer each and room underneath. There was a closet as well for additional storage, but it can be a little tricky if you like to unpack.
They have a sign saying that the rooms are cleaned every third day of your stay - our room wasn’t, which was fine by us, but if you are looking for that you may want to request it.
Overall a very nice hotel, and the manager Hope was great - thanks again for letting us check in a...
Read moreMy husband chose this hotel for a weekend stay to celebrate my birthday. Our beachfront room was modern and clean. Great pressure and hot water in the shower was a plus. 😃
Our King Premier Waterfront Suite was spacious, included a small kitchen area, sofa bed, microwave, and mini fridge. Supposedly the room is big enough for three guests. Downside, there was no dresser and we had to keep our clothes in our luggage. 😑 It makes me wonder how can another guest stay in the room when there isn’t a dresser. There’s definitely no space for another luggage on the floor! I think a small dresser can easily fit underneath the wall mounted TV, this would make a more comfortable stay.
Another downside, the bathroom does not have a nightlight. You have to take to take your phone with you when using the bathroom in the middle of the night in order to see or you’re forced to turn on the light! 😞
Unfortunately, we cut our vacation short for the following reason; the A/C was very noisy and we didn’t get a good nights sleep. The air compressor (the unit that is typically outside your house) was INSIDE the room and would kick on every 1 to 2 minutes!! We have stayed in many, many hotels and have NEVER EVER had an A/C air compressor in the room. This is a bad design flaw!
Overall, good location but based on all the things mentioned here, particularly the A/C system, I don’t think the room is worth $400 a night, in my opinion.
Folks beware if you are a light sleeper you will be inconvenienced with a loud and noisy air conditioning...
