Our stay started out just fine. The lady, I presume the owner, was pleasant as we checked in. Room was clean. A good start for a place we had no experience with. We understood the place came with rules; we are not smokers, nor party people - so no biggie. We did find it strange for a place that doesn’t want you cooking in the rooms, the room was equipped with a microwave. Mini fridge we plugged in when we got there, in case we had leftovers from eating out. No big deal. AC worked great. Blinds were okay, but needed new tensioning as not all were connected any longer. Had to carefully position them to get privacy in the room. Again, no biggie. Bed was very saggy, and jiggly, would recommend the owners updating to better quality beds. But, we made it through the first night, no problem. However, second night was a hot mess, and dissatisfying to say the least. Fire alarm went off some where between 1 and 2 am. Things happen, I get it. Not what you expect, but oh well. We get up, get appropriate clothes and shoes on, got outside our room and then the fire alarm stops. Just stops. We look left and right, see other guests outside their rooms too, but it’s apparent no one else knows what’s going on either. We wait. No sirens, no one from management, no smell of smoke, no sign of fire, nothing. Just silence, after we’ve all been jarred awake. We wait a few more minutes. Nothing. So, we go back into our rooms, as we see others were doing too. Expecting at some moment, someone is going to knock on our room and explain. We wait up for at least 1/2 hr. Still nothing. We try, and I mean try to rest, but being unsettled there’s not much rest. Morning comes, check out is at 11. We are showered and packed up by 10:00 as another couple is heading to the office, and says it’s locked. No management. They had given their card info at check in, but had been provided no receipt or otherwise. We were provided a receipt at check in, so no big deal for us, but I felt their uneasiness. We all left our keys in the drop bin on the vestibule window and left. It was strange. A privately owned business that wasn’t out to make sure its guests were okay. Strange. Baring something tragic happened to the owner, for which I hope not, this was just strange and could have been...
Read moreThe rooms were clean and quit spacious. The nightly rate was slightly higher than expected for its condition. However it is not the rooms condition or the nightly rate for being the reason of a poor review. The owner was flat out rude and very unprofessional. I will be certain to never use the Bellaire Inn again because of this. I had booked a room with my two daughters while visiting family. After checking in we left for dinner. We had gone to Shorts and be outside by the fire pits they had downtown. Loved it! Unfortunately it was too cold for my girls and they needed to warm up. It was 6pm when we all came back to the room, followed by two of my family members. We didn’t have our shoes off before my phone rang. It was the owner questioning me on how many people were in my room. I was shocked, within 30 seconds of entering our room she was calling. I told her I had two family members visiting us, they would not be staying overnight. In a short snippy voice she informed me that I failed to tell her that more people were coming, that it was only my daughters and I who are allowed in the room. Due to COVID, my family would have to leave immediately. I was shocked again. I asked her why this wasn’t told to me when checking in, no guests aloud for visiting. She was very defensive and insisted that I was told, and I should have known better as this is a state rule. I apologized for breaking the rules and hung up. I was in shock, I never had that happen to me before. She was extremely rude and it was uncalled for. Being a small business owner myself I’m aware of several different ways to handle this situation. Instead she made me feel like I was purposely breaking the rules and I felt like I was being belittled and spied on. I will NEVER recommend the...
Read moreCalled ahead and a price quote was given for 139.00 dollars for 2 full beds for 4 adults they were told about being in that room and we stated yes that's fine we will take that and agreed to have it held then we traveled all the way there on motorcycles also it rained that day too so then we get there and for the same lady we spoke to on the phone to tell us as soon as we go to check in that due to covid 19 that we could only have 2 adults to a room ? Never once did she tell us that prior to getting there or during the entire phone conversation we had together she waited for us to get there to double charge us and tell us then only 2 people to a room now we know why the entire place was empty with only one couple there renting for the night. So we were really tired and wet but we definitely decided to ride further. shady and greedy establishment very unprofessional. I shure didn't want to give them even one 🌟or stay even one night there what a terrible experience for all...
