Usually, these places are good for grabbing your cash, and a good place for a nap.

Bellaire branch has the ABSOLUTE BEST in/out service of any location I've ever been forced to visit. It's never pleasant to have licence tab renewal on your To-Do list. We all have bad memories of hours spent sitting on a hard-backed chair clutching a little numbered paper listening to crying babies wondering how much time will pass until our own number is called.

That doesn't happen in the Bellaire branch. There is one agent in this location who is an expert in customer service. She's knowledgeable, keeps the chit-chat minimum while remaining polite and gracious, and she gets you in and out within minutes.

If all government entities were managed in a day -to-day manner they wouldn't have the nasty reputation they currently struggle with.

I'm not recommending that you use this branch. I'd prefer you continue going elsewhere. Too much publicity and resultant humans will busy this branch beyond the capacity this gem of a CS agent can possibly handle. So, stay with your "take-a-number-have-a-nap" location. Just know that Bellaire doesn't roll that...

Did not have an appointment.....a simple question/transaction......employee arrived minutes before 9am.........one other man was waiting to ask question only.......upon entering she was still reading herself for the day......she called out a name for appt. no one was there.......the man asked his question.......still no one there.......she asked me, I had an EXTREMELY simple question that turned into a transaction.......she helped me quickly with NO problem.......I thanked her VERY much......she then smiled and said "have a nice day".........but before that, if looks could kill, I was afraid of how she'd respond.........I asked in kindness, thanked her in kindness, ALLIS WELL......FYI, DON'T start your day with a negative face, you ate obviously a very nice, hard working person, ...

Had to stop with my son and replace a missing driver's permit. I was a few minutes early. We waited outside for about 15 minutes and they called a couple people in. They had us wait in a specific spot while they cleaned the counter and everything around it. She helped us with what we needed. Because of an issue on our part, we had to reschedule and she was able to accommodate my schedule. I know at places such as the SOS office, there is a lot of unpredictability, but I HATE waiting when I have made an appointment. Very VERY small price to pay for quick and...
