This was the worst lodging experience I have ever had in my lifetime. We experienced problems with staff, inaccuracy in hot breakfast buffet set up, and unexpected swimming/hot tub closures due to chemical imbalances. ||||Check in staff was exceptional. We were really excited about our stay. She explained everything about the hotel and made sure we were all set. We checked in late at night so we had night staff for check in. ||||Things changed in the morning. The front desk staff was found to be swearing when the elevator doors opened. When we needed help with breakfast, we found 3 staff members outside smoking cigarettes literally right outside the front door. I couldn't believe it. No one smiled to greet me when I stepped outside and asked for help. They were rude and short with me.||||We had 1/6 morning's with hot breakfast for the entire stay. The 1st morning they served biscuits and gravy. The rest of the week there was no hot breakfast - no eggs or biscuits and gravy. On day 5 they ran out of yogurt and on day 6 they ran out of fruit cups. The only 2 items our four year old daughter would eat. ||||||By Wednesday, our room still had not been cleaned. Cleaning staff said that our room had not been placed on the cleaning list to clean for the week. Staff forgot to communicate we were even staying in our room. Becca cleaned our room shortly after. She did a great job. You are going to be impressed with her services. Your room will be clean.||||As for the pool, it was available Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. It was not inspected properly on Tuesday. When we entered, chemicals were left out and the door to the maintenance room was left open. No one was at the front door to inquire as to why. I shut the door and closed and put away the chemicals myself. After swimming, my daughter's eyes were blood shot. The pool had a chemical imbalance. The pool was then closed for 2 days. ||||If that wasn't already enough, our room keys continued to fail so we needed to go back each time and request new keys. Plus, the back door key scanner is broken.||||We would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel until changes are made. Hopefully, this will reach corporation level where someone will go there undercover to stay and see what actually takes place there. It's sad to see how people just don't care about their jobs any longer resulting in wrecking a reputable place to stay. Employees make or break a place. This hotel is definitely broken...
Read moreIt started out with the air conditioning not working in our room. We ask and they could not move us as they said they were book. Offered a fan in place for the air conditioner. But the fan squealed on and off all night long. It done this both Friday and Saturday night. I have COPD and Emphysema and the heat was really unbearable. They said they couldn’t call no one to look at it nor did they offer any form of discount for the broken unit. We have stayed at this hotel just about every year for as long as I can remember, maybe a couple of times that they may have already been booked so we stayed in South Point. Upon getting home, I realized we left both mine and my wife’s phone chargers hooked up in the room. Was told to call Tuesday to talk with Vickie the manager. She wanted to charge $10 plus shipping to send them to me.. I told her about our situation and that I was a Veteran that’s patronized there business for many years along with my family. So there was always two rooms rented for 2-4 days at a time. She finally said she would wave the $10 fee and mail them to me using my credit card on file. Remember they gave me nothing for our inconvenience for the air conditioner. I said I’d like to talk to the corporate office or owner and she would not give me there information. I told her it would be easy to find on the internet , in which I will do. Remember my wife and I along with our Daughter s family go there every year so your talking between $450 to $800 every year for many year’s and they can’t help a Vet out!!!! I called back and told her to forget ship them as I will purchase New ones. And I won’t never stay at the Ramada Inn in Cattletsburg again. You would think with the thousands of dollars spent there they would at least give of the courtesy of mailing them back to me. I know it would not cost more than $2 do do so.. To sum it up Jenniffer didn’t care and neither did the manager Vickie!!! We spent our last Labor Day weekend at this Place. I’ve heard that they are building new Hotels in Ironton, I think we’ll give them a Try!!! Mr. Rodger...
Read moreLet me start with I went online and did the reservation thru Wyndham Rewards. I walked in and showed them the Res#. The lady at the desk said she couldn't find it. So she said she could give it to me for the same price. I canceled the reservation I had which cost me 3000 points. I informed her we had a small pet as the website says pet friendly. But they charge 25 bucks, that's not pet friendly. When asked why then do you charge 25 bucks, answer, we have to use other disinfectants to eliminate pet odors. Ok, I will give them that. Now when we walked into the second-floor room 218, it literally smelled like a hole-in-the-wall bar where 100 people have been smoking. When I went downstairs to ask about it, the lady that checked us in it was policy to put non-smokers with pets in a smoking room. Frankly, there should be no smoking anywhere in the building. Or they MUST install a smoke eater machine every 25 ft. Fire Marshall Issues there. She said she would have the manager call, but that of course never happened. THIS IS A NICOTINE TRAP. If they would have told me upfront since you have a pet, the policy is you must stay in a smoking room. I stay in MANY hotel/motel places. This is the first I have run onto this. The fact they don't have it posted on the website and don't tell you upfront leads me to believe there are some dishonest folks running the Inn. The toilet had a cigarette in it meaning. Whoever so-called cleaned the room, smoked in the room, and thru it in the toilet. If you have pets beware, DO NOT STAY HERE. Please read more of the reviews. I wish I would have, I figured a 4-star would be ok, boy was I wrong! It appears most of the hotels in this area have issues with pets, but say YES we are pet friendly. NOT!!! I am considering legal action because of the misinformation and lack of information given by staff and the...
