We are a family of 4 plus two small dogs. We reserved the Hill Country Riverfront Cottage and we ended up paying an average of $460 per night. We were tired from the 8 hour road trip and so excited with the idea of staying in “this place” that my husband and I decided to make it work at any cost. But believe me the CABIN was not what we were expecting at all. As soon as we got there, our first impression was the disgusting sleeper sofa. Then when we pulled up the blinds, you can see all the dog fur and dust floating all around the cabin. The mattresses were covered with plastic, which was also covered with dust and dog fur. The kitchen drawers were dirty and the countertops were full of ants. In the dining area all the chairs had loose legs. It was a disaster! At that time, we thought of calling management but the kids were starving and tired. So my husband and I decided to clean the cabin, thank God we brought Clorox wipes and Lysol. We disinfected everything!!! mattresses, floors, cabinets, bathroom, we covered the couch with a bed queen quilt. It took us 3 long hours but it was worth it. The cabin was not clean at all, so you need to be aware of bringing a vacuum, disinfecting wipes, and a bug spray. The first day was really difficult, but the rest of the staying was really amazing. You are totally surrounded by nature, the trees close to the river have swing chairs. In the mornings we used to go for a walk, there is a lot of shade from the big trees, you can also jump in the river, the kids were so happy catching the fish in a bucket, and release them back to the river. The water park was fun, we went there every single day. They need more personnel around the water slides though. Later on, we ate lunch, rested for a little while, and at night we were out again playing volleyball, golf, or jumping on the jumbo jumpers. We forgot to bring the bikes! In just a few words, besides the problem with the cabin, I loved the place! playing outdoors with the kiddos and surrounded by nature was really amazing. I think I would like to try another jellystone location, and if I go back to this one I would definitely come more prepared next time. After cleaning everything I remembered that I didn't take pics of all the points mentioned before but at least I took a few of the sleeper sofa.

This is our 3rd year here at Jellystone Park in Kerrville, TX and this was the worst time we have ever been here. The service here was terrible and lots of issues had happened, so here is everything broken down from day to day.

Monday: We had arrived at the Jellystone and had gotten the room key. Once we had entered the room, we had saw that this room might be the worst room in the whole entire park. The couch and the tables had lots of signs of usage on it, there was flies in the room, and then there was a crushed up Dorito in the drawer near the stove. Obviously, heat rises up, but it was a different level of heat. It was so hot up there that you could not even charge your phone. It turns out that the thing that was mostly making the heat was the lightbulbs, which they were burning hot to the touch. The food trucks were not opened today since the restaurant had went on fire and had gotten shut down, and they said that it will be open tomorrow. The couch frame was also broken as well, and there was a really high chance of it falling down. The mini golf is not in the best condition right now, with lots of green that isn’t the right shade or isn’t even on there.

Tuesday: We had all slept pretty terrible because of the god awful heat and then the couch being broken so then we had went up to the front desk, explained the problem, and then they sent people out there. All of the issues with the bed frame for the couch and then the heat was fixed. Thanks maintenance people! Some random bug had came up from the drain of the sink, which was kinda weird but it wasn’t terrible. We asked the front desk about the food trucks and then she save us an attitude, which had really pissed off anybody. Some examples were “is the flags out” which they weren’t and then she had the urge to say “then I suppose its closed” They also didn't know the hours at all since they don't have any workers for it. Since the tragic Kerrville floods had happened, there was lots of trucks that were pulling in, which kinda made Jellystone more of a construction zone. The craziest part of today is that the front office had closed down at 5:00pm today since all of the staff members had left. Good thing that we had checked in to our room on Monday or it would’ve sucked.

Wednesday: I had woken up to one of the bunk beds that had given me a splinter on my foot. The wood needs to be sanded because it looks like that there is exposed wood, which can cause you getting splinters. The water from the indoor pool was cloudy and the smell of the chlorine was terrible. The urinal inside the indoor pool had kept overflowing because sometimes, it would either flush or not. Believe it or not, the porta potties that were outside of the water park were much cleaner than the restrooms in the whole entire park. Still, no food trucks were ever open and one of them had moved to a RV spot, but still, no one was working. At the end of the day, the water had went out for the toilets and sinks.

Thursday: This was the day that we were going to head home from this place and then once I woke up, the bedroom wasn’t blowing any type of clean air, it was blowing dust. We didn’t go to the water park or get any food from the place since we just wanted to drop off our stuff and leave. We dropped off our keys and left the place and we didn’t feel like getting souvenirs because we knew that they were gonna be expensive or near overpriced.

The good from the trip was that they had fixed the bed frame from the couch, the AC had finally gotten better and was not warm, and then some of the workers...

While there were a few disappointments, we had a great time at this Jellystone. Our RV site was clean and easy to pull into. The Cafe at the pool was closed due to a fire, as well as the bathrooms. There is a little stand in a cabana selling draft beer and canned drinks though. Having 8 kids in our group, it took a lot of coordinating and wrangling to get them to the scheduled activities which were on the opposite side of the park from the waterslides and pools. *Pizza with a bear was 2 slices of dominoes pizza (which they ran out of) and a choice of purple or orange Gatorade or a diet coke. The bear was there for less than 10 minutes. Once all the kids had gotten their pizza, he was gone. We were looking forward to taking a picture of all the kids with him. We looked for a bear later during the "bear on the prowl" time but didn't find one. *The bear mail delivery didn't have a bear. Someone pulled up on a golf cart with the letters, read a few of the names off and handed them over. The letters are a cute souvenir to take home but it's not worth bringing all the kids out to wait for. *The wet hey ride was a blast! Maddie was very enthusiastic and made it fun for the kids and the girls spraying the hose and throwing water baloons were great as well. For Bingo, we pulled all of the kids away from the pool to change and head to the recreation area. We arrived 3 minutes before it was scheduled to start and they had already began calling the first card. The kids were able to play the 2nd round and then they announced it was over. We were shocked that that was it. $2+tax for each kid for maybe 10 minutes of Bingo that the kids had been so excited for. We told the kids it was OK, we'd go play arcade games instead and back to the other side of the park. The cards from another Jellystone are supposed to work at all Jellystones and we had $78 of arcade credit. Those didn't work and while Christian in the office was very nice and helpful, there was nothing he could do. We bought a new arcade card and about half the games didn't work. Another disappointment. We took the kids to the camper and made our own fun movie night for them instead. *Bear-e-oke night was a blast! Maddie was, again, so much fun. The kids asked a few times if we could double check the schedule and make sure there wasn't another Karaoke night. It was definitely their favorite activity of the stay.

While the paid activities were disappointing, the park itself was very clean and staff were very friendly. The kids loved the...
