I'm a truck driver. Sometimes it's nice to get out of the truck and get a room. I was going to get a room here tonight, but, unfortunately the manager at the desk was hostile to the fact that I have a dog with me. Dogs were ok, but mine was not. Seeing as I have a female American Pit Bull/Boxer mix, who happens to be a Humane Society Rescue and Rehabilitation dog, I was not welcome. His concern was what would his other guests think about a Pit Bull running around his hotel. One more thing.... She is a service dog. Registered. Trained. Not aggressive at all. Read moreThis motel was nice when my husband was there, but it has apparently changed hands. It was one of the filthiest places I have ever seen. The heater did not work, so I tried to call the number online to the front desk, but it was out of service. It was almost 11 pm when I arrived, and when I faced a freezing wind to go to the office; it was locked. Getting gas off I 80 at a Conoco and not wanting to drive in the icy conditions anymore, I checked my phone for nearby motels. 1st Interstate Inn showed up first only 100 ft away. Hadn't even noticed it. A remnant of the fast-disappearing mom and pop establishments, you need to stay here to experience what will soon become extinct. 60 years later, I still recall with fondness some of the same types of motels and their proprietors on our cross country trips as a kid. Loved the room! Large but wood paneling and a forest wall mural made it cozy. Some snobs will turn up their noses at the aged premises, but it was clean and very comfortable. Highly...
