Pretty lake. Very popular though so not much seclusion at the boat dock but it looked like a couple of people parked before the launch spot on the main road and had a nice private areas. We took a dip and it was cool but not freezing. Some small waves due to wind. There were a few nice trails to the north that were easy for running. There were small cabins to the south.

Family fun! Our grandchildren love the water. The bike trails are fun. Adventure awaits them each day!

I would like to give this place a negative star if possible. Yesterday we drove through looking for a first come first serve spot. We were told there were none available. We drove through the day use area and left. We went to Odessa campground, it was free and ok but Klamath lake is full of algae. So this morning we came back to the Sunset day use area, paid our 7 bucks and parked for the day. The park host guy came and accused me of camping here overnight. I said I did not then he argued with me saying again that I did and that someone seen me here the day before. Wow. I explained that we had come through and where we had spent the night and that we came back this morning. I showed him my permit but he basically implied I was still lying and said the owners would be over to talk with me. I said good. I can’t believe how rude he was. I took plenty of pictures at Odessa and they have tie date on them if I need to prove it though I can not believe my word that he is mistaken is not enough. Crazy. The campground is nice but not worth lying over as there are plenty of other lakes around. Seems like the biggest problem here is the hosts and how they treat the campground guests. Maybe they need to be replaced. I have never been treated so disrespectfully in my 57...

So it would be helpful if there were signs that directed you to the restrooms that avoided walking through people’s campsites. I got lost , someone reported me ravaging and being extremely violent when I was simply lost trying to find my way back to my campground . The host interrogated me and threatened to call 911 when my fiancé finally found me. My sister in law stepped in the middle and explained it was a misunderstanding and the other two park rangers got in the middle and apologized for the hosts behavior and to have a good night and we wouldn’t be bothered again. That just set a bad tone for the beginning of our trip. The hosts name was Jim and he was insanely pugnacious and embarrassed himself in front of his other staff . He was literally looking to pick a fight based on unproven facts . I don’t think I’ll be coming back here and won’t be recommending anyone else here for the experience I received. I will be reaching out to the superior of this campsite due to unsettling experience and how unprofessional they’re treating...

Camp hosts obviously are taking advantage of hourly wage. They are just not doing there job all some of them do is collect extra parking money. I would guess there is no less than 4 o 6 different kids driving golf carts and all they do is go round n round sites. Many time the women's bathroom was out of paper. Saturday and Sunday morning no paper In men's. Bathrooms are filthy. And need a face lift bad... I was a camp host for forest service in Idaho and fo 2 years they tried to get me to come back. I painted restrooms painter every site post 50 mind you with a q tip. And lots more. I'd check restrooms 3 times a day. And I did this for 10 dollars a day. These guys get hourly wage and it's probably a goog one but still don't do...
