I've camped here over a dozen times in the last few years. It never bothered me before, that there were always the rude people that blasted their obnoxious music with explicit lyrics, that's just something you deal with when you're around other people. But this past weekend was so bad, and the staff did nothing about it when I called the office to let them know. I called ahead on Friday to check availability for the weekend, looked at their website too, and they failed to mention that the lake had an algae bloom going on, and the water was "unsafe to swim in" hey west marina, would've been nice to know that before I drove for two hours with four kids under 12, my dog, and all of the camp gear! We stayed anyway which is what they were hoping for, instead of turning around like I should have. The new addition to the shower stalls, is just plain stupid and obnoxious, you used to be able to turn the water on fine, now there is a knob you need to hold to make the water come out, which is up at the shower head, which is about 6 feet high. I'm 5'2" and having to hold this knob with my arm craned up was just stupid. My fiancé is 6'4" and even he had problems trying to turn and twist to rinse while holding the knob down. I understand the concept, but make it accessible at about waist high, not out of almost everyone's reach! And it won't even give you like 10 seconds of water after you let go like most of those bathroom faucets, or beach showers, nope, direct on and off. The bathrooms themselves were disgusting this weekend, the TP was refilled (new roll on Sunday morning) so I know someone had been in there, but they looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. One of the showers was clogged/backed up with about 4 inches of gross standing water. When you only have 3 shower stalls you'd think (if the staff actually cared) that that would've been handled on a Saturday evening when most people are taking showers after being in stinky dead fish algae water that they failed to tell us about ahead of time. The lady checking us in also tried to say that since we were 6 people and a dog, we may have to buy 2 campsites, but luckily I read websites really well and I knew that they allow six people per site, and that dogs are already a separate charge... nice try though. Never had a problem with this place before, but now, I can assure you I will never be...
Read moreWhen I was initially called about my reservations being approved, the gentleman started giving me a confirmation number. I stopped him and told him I was driving at that moment and asked him to send me the confirmation number and other information to my email address. He said that he would...still haven’t gotten that requested email.
Bathroom hours are from 7 am to 8 pm. If you have to use the restroom outside of those hours, you are out of luck or have to go to the port-a-potty down by the lake.
In the ladies restroom, the handicap stall door is hard to get closed, much less locked. Not a handicap commode
Showers in the ladies room...3 total. Only one does not work. All three are fitted with a second handle to activate the water flow. The user had to hold the second handle in a downward position in order to have a working shower. Otherwise, the water won’t run. These handles are located around 6-ft high region. If you are short, or you are disabled, you cannot reach these handles. When the person at the front desk was asked why this situation, they are conserving water. If we have a problem with the showers, then we really don’t need to shower.
Men’s restroom. Only 1 out of 3 sinks worked. Neither of the 2 urinals flushed. Did not have a handicap commode in the handicap stall.
Showers in the men’s room...only one of the 3 showers worked. That extra handle on the men’s were the same as in the ladies showers. Only difference, the one working shower had a second handle that actually let water flow and didn’t require being held open in place.
No trash cans located in campground area. Have to take trash down to the lake to place in trash cans there.

Read moreWe just returned from a long weekend staying here, first we are avid campers and love the outdoors, so as far as the heat, bugs, or weather in general they cannot be blamed. That being said, the spots we had reserved ahead of time, #207 & 208, I had double and triple checked they could accommodate a 40 ft trailer with 3 slides. #207 could hardly accommodate my accompanying parties trailer of 30 ft, much less my 40 ft, which still did not fit in #208 (length wise), I was past the marker on my rear neighbors side, and the hitch was right on the road. The spots are a fine dirt powder, which again, we wouldn't expect dirt, but wood chips, or rocks, something not so "dirty" messy. At night questionable looking characters would speed through the roads between spots, most likely belonging to some of the tent campers closer to the lake. Secondly, the marine it self is not friendly for boaters, a narrow way in of about 6-7 ft depth, but most importantly the docks (we used two different ones) had broken and were both missing cleats. Unfortunately it wasn't until our last day there (at that point too late), we discovered there was a beautiful RV resort next to us, they just built, called Launch Pointe, we rented a boat from there and saw the facility, it was amazing, esp if your traveling with kiddos. Lake Elsinore Marina and RV Resort was mostly what appeared to be full time residents living in trailers, not the safest of environments or friendliest for kids. This is lengthy but hopefully will help someone else...
