This is not really an RV resort. It is mostly old or renovated single wide trailers (beach cabins), not RVs. It is clean and could be great. There are a lot of rules here, but no one follows them, and no one enforces them. People park where is says "no parking." Lifted SoCal trucks with trailered boats drive too fast through the park. Quiet hours are not observed. There is an even split of late night drinkers and early morning tinkerers. There was an old lady leaf blowing her proch at 5:30am each morning. One person constantly let their dog out with no lease. Kids on electric dirt bikes and golf carts fly through the park at all hours with music blasting and doubling the speed limit. The park advertises a beach, but the truth is you can't use the beaches because people line their boats up on them, preventing you from accessing the water unless you have a boat. The pool is nice. There are multiple bath houses. The amenities are slightly misleading. There is no pet area, and the pictures of the beach must have been taken in the winter when it is too cold to use it.

I visited Thur-Sun in late January. I called in the morning needing a place for 3 nights. They were booked full but have one site they keep empty for emergencies, which they rented to me for a short stay. The facility is old but well maintained. The staff were friendly to me. My site was gravel and the streets are paved. Most sites have manufactured homes, double-wides, with a few RV sites here and there. Some have a lake view. The resort was quiet during my stay. Restrooms and showers were old and clean. I had poor AT&T service which faded in and out. Wifi is available only in the pubic building, not throughout the park. Two miles to London Bridge, there's a walking/bike path the whole way.

Would definitely stay here again. Beautiful view of the mountains at the end of the island but still just 5 minutes from London Bridge. Office team was very very nice. I needed internet for my wife’s job and they recommended a spot across from the clubhouse where there was free WiFi. Clubhouse, game room, pool area is nice. Staying in spot 225, it’s very spacious with a large level concrete pad. I have a 34 foot camper and could have stayed hooked up. Most of the park is park model perm spots, which I like. It’s fun to see all the vacation homes people have built.

Grounds need improvements, the pool is outdated still looks like something from the 60's. Office staff are nice, but the guards are not on the same page and enforce park rules differently. The launch ramp is a gravel slope and the actual ramp is not well manicured. Their is a makeshift chain link fence that looks terrible which has been installed to separate the previous Beachcomber park. The private beach is not kept up and not manicured, I would consider another place, don't let the private launch fool you as it's not worth it if you want a safe launch.

An update, in true fashion to Sam's reputation the resort contacted me regarding my review and I gave the person calling a detailed account of my experience. Expecting a business/ Resort to care about a negative review and trying to learn from the review I was told I was banned from their property. My review was accurate and fair, but instead of Sam's Beachcomber learning from the review and possible correcting an issue they just banned me from using their side, which has no effect on me as I only visited an owner on that side and don't use their facilities. This is how Sam's beachcomber runs their resort, have an opinion that does not favor them and expect banishment. This was a miss opportunity by Sam's Beachcomber to clearly demonstrate a functional operation rather than a prison camp...

OMG....what can I say ? Words fail me. How about a quote from Betty Davies "WHAT A DUMP" !!!! Arrived at this DUMP Sunday afternoon April 3rd, the entrance alone should have made me turn around, what do theses people do each day that they can't make simple improvements....HELLO!! The place was so dirty and run down EVERYWHERE, my poor doggies wouldn't even go to the bathroom there (what the hell does that tell you?) Had to drive up the road to a public park!! The people that live there full time have tons of junk in and around their R.Vs (looks like a camp for bums) We checked in Sunday for 4 days, but left abruptly on Tuesday!! QUIET TIME???? There were kids driving around on golf carts before and AFTER 10 P.M. with radios blasting, screaming and shouting etc. Here's the good part: called and talked to Jeff after we returned home (who ever he was) and complained about the radois blasting. He apologized (big deal) and said he knew who "The girls were" that were making the noise etc.....no offer of a refund!! PLEASE PEOPLE DO NOT RENT HERE....DISGUSTING DIRTY PLACE. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID....read ALL the reviews on this...
