I am sad to give this review but I am left no choice! My husband and I have used Holiday Inn as our home away from home during many travels. We have always enjoyed the experience at different locations. I am baffled how we were treated at this location in Fort Worth, Texas. We were there for our granddaughter‘s Graduation. The lady who checked us in was very kind however, later that evening, a lady by the name of Tiffany was working the counter. There were snacks on the wall displayed, no pricing of any kind and to my misunderstanding I thought that they were free to the guest because I have been in hotels that offered free snacks to the visitors. We grabbed a few chips, cookies went on up to our room. I realized I needed a fork for my food and my husband went back down to get one. The Clerk yelled at him, humiliating him accusing us of stealing snacks. Startled and tried to explain She continued to be very ugly to him! He came back to the room looking like a deer in head Lights telling me that the snacks were not free and that the lady downstairs is accusing us of stealing. Shocked, I grabbed the snacks and my husband and I went back down there to clear it up. As I approached the counter I apologized to her and told her we were very sorry and that we would like to pay for them. She yelled at me and told me to get out of her lobby and go to my room. I asked her why was she speaking to me in that tone she said if I don’t get out of her lobby, she’s gonna throw me out of her hotel and if I didn’t move fast enough, she will call the police! By this time I’m highly offended and humiliated so I told her I will wait for the Police! It was the delivery for me! So unprofessional! Besides the last week in May, Fort Worth experienced storms. Where were we going to go miles away from home? So There my husband and I sat waiting for the police to arrive. My husband got up to go to the bathroom(note: my husband has a device in his back that controls his urinary track he must go when it’s time in addition to a heart condition) Finally the Officers happened to come in. She exclaimed the (he) my husband ran off because he knew that they were coming! That wasn’t the case and I was appalled. I told the officers my husband did not run from them. He went to the Lobby bathroom before they even showed up, he would be out shortly or should I go get him? They told me they would wait. Seconds later my husband appeared. They came and asked our version of the story and then they asked us to wait, they approached the counter and got her version. I cannot begin to tell you how ugly she acted with us! The officers were very kind realized it was a misunderstanding and asked us if we would like to still purchase the snacks. No thank you! We went to our room and spent the rest of our stay feeling like we were in someone’s home that didn’t want us there!!! The thing is my husband and I own two businesses.A Liquor store and A Residential Care home for Seniors and Disabled Vets, Surely we do not need to steal snacks!!! Even more, we were very baffled at the Customer Service we received since we extend customer service on a daily at our businesses. Furthermore we would never want someone to represent our company and treat the guest like she treated us who happen to be some of their IHG members! I’m not saying that the complete chain of Holiday Inns are all bad because we love our stays except this one time at this location…but wait! There’s more…Turns out she had a warrant!!! Oh my! She’s on the wrong side of the law and had the audacity to call the police on us for chips and Cookies?! Needless to say The very next morning I called Corporate to report this incident and they told me to speak with hotel management since it was a franchise. I have tried for the last two weeks to no avail. This is exactly why I am sharing my experience because nothing not even an apology was accommodated to us and I am highly disappointed. An apology would have been greatly...
Read moreThis was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. You would think Holiday Inn Corporate would audit these hotels to some basic level of quality. This hotel would be a candidate for a haunted house hotel experience with its condition. If after you enter and you decide you still are going to stay, ensure you don't get checked into room 218. If you care for the horror story short story, read on.
Driving up to the hotel, you soon realize this is not the nicest part of town. The outside of the hotel looks nice enough, but when you enter their is an immediate smell of cleaning chemicals and mildew. It does not get any better from there. The elevator we avoided at the time. Its weight capacity is only 500lbs and feels like it shouldn't carry more than an adult at a time.
Onto the rooms, we were lucky enough to get checked into room 218. This room..... Ooohhh this room. There is mold, literal mold on the bathroom wall behind the toilet. Behind the tv stand has never been cleaned. Cobwebs, dust, wrappers. The room smells like mildew and chemicals just like the hotel. There is an outside double light spotlight with a stand pointed directly at your window. The black out curtains have small holes and have never been changed most likely so that spotlight shines right on through. The AC power cord has a makeshift electrical tape patch job. I was not brave enough with my kids to endure this so we complained to the front desk and they got us another room, a suite on the 3rd floor..... We should have just left.
We grab our stuff and make our way to the 3rd floor and guess what? The AC in the hallway does not work. This room was a little cleaner, had a lighter smell to it. Do not touch the walls, there are boogers on them and stains. Curtains same condition, AC cord same conditon. We decided to give it a shot and stay a night.... Bad choice. We skipped breakfast fearing the lack of cleaning. My son developed hives from an allergy to something, maybe the chemicals, maybe the detergent in the sheets, maybe the mildew spores in the air, I have no clue. This is the only time he has ever had a hive breakout in his life. Coincidence? Yeah right.
We had some more nights scheduled. I canceled with the hives incident. They gave us a good old $15 credit on the bill and we were on our way. And luckily my car was not broken into. These positive reviews..... They clearly never stayed at the hotel and can't be trusted. At a basic level the rooms have not been maintained or deep cleaned so thats a red flag right there.
This hotel is a dump they do the bare minimum. They should sell it to Motel 6 but they probably wouldn't buy it. Stay at...
Read moreThe hotel is near our destination, so we chose it. I was hopeful since the front desk could add another night to our stay via phone on the way here. Waze got us lost using their online address info, so we had to switch to Google Maps and manually input the address. Not the hotels fault, but it was their link info we input into Waze. ||Upon checking, we found the room had a foul smell like someone had just had a BM in our bathroom. I sprayed. And washed my hands thoroughly. NO TOWELS! Front desk didn’t answer, so I went to the desk for towels. ||Then I found discarded trash on the floor in plain sight between the bed and lounge chair! That’s when I discovered we had no pillow cases, either! Back to the desk and got those. ||This hotel has a covid policy that guests get no housekeeping during their stay for “the guests and help’s safety. We were not told about that this morning when I asked our room be serviced while we were out. The clerk told me that couldn’t happen because I had not filled out a request the night before! I told her the room wasn’t clean when we checked in, so they needed to clean today! She agreed and said she would let manager know about our issues. ||We can back after two hours to find the toilet had cleaner in it and the bed was made. The soiled towels were gone and no clean towels were left. I found the housekeeper and ask her to come with me. I showed her the dirty paper towel that was there when we checked in and the dirty spots on the floor. She said all she had to do was get towels to me. I had to ask her THREE TIMES to pick up the trash someone else had left in the room! I told her I wanted the floors mopped and vacuumed. ||Over an hour later, the front desk called to let me know housekeeping had done all they were going to do except bring towels. I said she needed to clean the floors and was told they had done that. (I’m looking at the dirt on the floor.) I started to say something and she kept interrupting me. I lost it and said Don’t interrupt me! in a loud voice. She apologized and said all she could do was bring towels. ||DON’T...
