My experience today was absolutely phenomenal. I was passing through the Fort Worth area and wanted shawarma for dinner. I chose to try Galilee because I saw the great reviews and photos. This might be some of the best food I've had, ever. The hospitality they showed on a rainy day was also unmatched.
My partner and I ordered the chicken shawarma plate, grilled chicken plate, and cheesecake. The portions are generous and the plate had well balanced flavors. A quick overview of the plates: well-spiced chicken, fragrant and moist rice, fresh and vibrant salad, soft pita, and some truly excellent hummus. We initially ordered warbat, but the man helping us offered a suggestion to try the cheesecake, promising we wouldn't be disappointed. I absolutely love cheesecake, so eagerly agreed to his suggestion. I'm not exaggerating when I say it might be the best cheesecake I've had in my life. It's delightfully soft and creamy, and not too sweet.
I mentioned that their hospitality on a rainy day was unmatched. While waiting for our order, a woman brought us lentil soup and said it was on the house, citing the rainy weather. Not only was her gesture incredibly kind, but the soup was delicious. When we finished eating, she offered us a hot earl grey tea to-go - again on the house. We had a four hour drive ahead of us, so this really made our night. I regret that we live in Central Texas and cannot return sooner, but this will be our first stop when we're back in the area next year. In fact, we will happily drive out of our way to give them our business again.
Edit: three months later, we were back in the Fort Worth area sooner than expected and did go out of our way to come back here. The food was absolutely phenomenal again. This is now a mandatory stop anytime we're back in...
Read moreJust went here today with a friend for a girls lunch and it was SO GOOD. The food: excellent. The service: excellent. The atmosphere: excellent. I have literally no bad things to say here. I have no ulterior motive to give this restaurant a good review, it was honestly just the best new place I've been to in a while! Places like this need to be known about because it was just perfect, so here I go sharing my experience!
Details from my experience: Food: The flavors were perfect, not greasy, it definitely tasted fresh and flavorful. The portion size was also a lot, so we both took leftovers home! I got the beef shawarma pita wrap with fries and a drink. I practically inhaled the pita wrap because it was all sooo good!! The fries were crinkle and crispy, and they had some really tasty seasoning on them (not spicy) and came with a dipping sauce which was great also! Service: The owner was so kind and asked if we had been there before which we hadn't, so he welcomed us and after we sat down to wait for our food he brought us each complimentary tea and a date! When we finished we started to clean up and the owner went out of his way and showed up at our table with lids and bags for our leftovers, which we graciously took because the food was amazing!! Atmosphere: The actual restaurant is a walk in and order at the counter. It felt clean, calm, and peaceful there with a Scandinavian vibe. They even have bird sounds playing, which gave me such a relaxed feel while eating amazing food and catching up with a friend. I am definitely going again!!
The only thing I could think of to make this place better would be... add diet coke to your drink options lol! I'm partially kidding, they had a lot of drink options, I just am a slave to fountain...
Read moreThis was my first time here. I ordered the beef shawarma plate and the beef shawarma tortilla. My first bite of the beef was not impressive but that was because of the chewiness of the beef. I'm trying the chicken next time which also looks good being slow roasted on the rotating spit. The black tea was great. I ordered a beef shawarma plate to go and that will be my dinner later. The owner refunded my purchase, a big plus for me. If you order the tabuoleh it's fresh prepared and I loved the hummus and the rice is great, fluffy and tasty. I'll be back for the chicken.
UPDATE 3/29/24 - The owner kept his word and took care of my order. I am going to return sat. for a chicken schwarma plate, my review will be same day. I am impressed with the response to my review and he has got my support for it.
UPDATE 4-3-24
My schedule and appointments have kept me from coming back as soon as I wanted. I tried the chicken shawarma plate tonight very tasty and I love the lentil soup that he gave me a taste of it's very good! Nice and creamy not gritty at all and it doesn't taste like it's vegan he just may convert me to veggies with that soup. I would add some garlic but that's just me I love garlic. The chickens schwarma was great and almost too much for me to eat in one sitting it was very tasty nicely prepared no gristle no fat. I will be a repeat customer especially with his customer service attitude and a great ambiance. It's very pleasant to walk in there and not be bombarded with rock music or head banging music, nice pretty birds chirping everywhere haha lol. You can't go wrong here folks especially if...
