Worst place I have ever stayed! First James, a front desk clerk had zero customer service. Called him to add a day and had a few questions, he added the day then tells me " I gotta go" I said " wait I have A question about having a room that didn't have animals in it. He says something like yeh we put you in the back. Then says "I gotta go, I have someone who has been waiting". We hang up. I have been working in customer service for over 25 yrs and was dumb founded by complete lack of what customer service is. So I look online to see if my extra day was added and saw nothing, and it asks for me to put in a confermation # didnt have one. Almost 4hrs later I call back ( hoping not to get James) and James answers, I told him I didnt see the day added, and I needed a confermation #. He says the conf# didn't matter and again says " I gotta go!!!!!!. So I call customer care to complain and they apologize and I'll hear from someone w/in 7 days. Now I'm stuck with this place and wasn't sure what I was walking into. Now the front desk had 1 gentleman who was very nice and 2 women also very nice. Didn't see James. So we are given our rms, get in, the door doesnt lock.My husband tells the front desk and they say they will send someone tomorrow, the rug was nasty with snags and stains, then the toilet doesn't flush, my husband goes back to the desk and is given a plunger! The plunger doesn't work, he goes back to the desk and is given a bottle of drain cleaner and is told to pure it in and wait at least 15 mins. So we wait 30 mins. and nothing. Now I'm getting agitated so I say I'll call. I go to pick up the phone to call the desk and the phone is stuck and nasty with soda spilled and dried on it( also wires to phone frayed away from receiver). Now I'm mad. I go down to the desk and tell them we want a new rm. They were very apologetic and very nice so I said we can wait till morning. Now I'm going in for surgery and have to deal with this. The next day they said our rms was ready, so before heading to the hospital we switch rms. This rm was better, the toilet flushed, door locked, phone clean and rug looked better, but the safe wouldn't open so now I'm watching the clock while the maintenance guy ( also nice) resets it. While staying in the hospital my husband tells me James was there at nite. I'm glad I didn't have to see him. He needs to be either retrained or canned. To make a long story longer. I will not be staying there ever again, and it's not because of the 3 front desk clerks because they did the best they could and were very very nice. I need to go to Dartmouth hospital 3x a yr and it can get pretty pricey so I was hoping The Day Inn would be a good fit. Unfortunately the place is just not clean enough and too run down, furniture, plumbing, carpet...
Read moreWell the woman Robin who originally answered the phone when I was calling to make a reservation said " hold on" and then pit the phone down and I could hear her talking to a bunch if other people. I was on "hold" for 30 minutes before I hung up. I called back and spoke to a man, he was very polite ( sorry I did not catch his name) had to ask for a late check in (2 at the latest) and he said no problem at all. Checking in Sunday at 3 ish we had to wait for robin to get off the couch ( guess she didn't like tearing herself from her boyfriend) and come around to the desk. She was very snotty and had to argue with me about the late checkout. Whatever, so got to the room and both keys would not work. So went back to the desk and had to wait for robin to get off the couch again and told her the both keys did not work , she barks " did you put it in the right way?" Whynyes robin I did just like the arrow showed. So she ran it again and my husband has the other one and was trying to get that card to work, it worked 5 seconds after she ran it. Weird....
Read moreI read from one reviewer there was a problem with the receptionist, Robin, a few months back. She, for us, was perfectly fine in every way. In fact I called at 9:30am the day we were to arrive and got her on the phone asking if it was possible we could get our room at 11am because we were arriving early. No problem whatsoever with making our request. She was perfectly fine in every way to make our stay here "five stars." Our room was spacious with accommodations, including a safe (which I did use), microwave and small fridge. Comfortable king size bed - clean sheets. All very good for the price. We couldn't get our phones to cooperate with the Wifi, but what the hey - we just used the Verizon satellite....no big deal. We will be back. Affordable. Said hello to the gentleman who was cleaning the rooms that day - very nice fella. Good breakfast in the main lobby which included cheese omelet, sausage, fruit, very good coffee, cereal, oatmeal, assorted breads...the...
