Let’s start with the obvious, this motel was probably built in the 60’s. So it’s not a stunning high rise glass and concrete typical hotel.
What it is, is a nice old motel that the owners have invested a bunch of money into, and the manager keeps close watch on.
The rooms are a complete surprise when you walk in. Completely remodeled...and maybe a little overdone. Super nice full kitchen new tile bathroom, and overall just nice.
We stayed in the west building and there’s 2 separate bath/shower areas with washer dryers (coin operated) available. Again just really nicely finished and clean. Rivers Edge has slips on the river just outside your room, so I assume the showers and laundry are meant for the folks renting the slips.
The manager and his wife run the place and they’re on top of the details...and just really nice people.
Safety is really important to me, and never felt unsafe. You know the feeling when you’re in some weird place and wonder if you’ll get mugged? You’ll feel secure at Rivers Edge. I’m sure there’s crime in somewhere in Labelle, but it’s wasn’t a concern to me.
So lastly there are 3 motels in Labelle. The other 2 are places I would definitely avoid.
Oh one more thing. I think it’s a Florida thing, but the water that comes from the tap/shower smells pretty gross. I’m not blaming anyone at Rivers Edge just giving fair warning...it smells and tastes like swamp water.

I travel for work internationally and found myself in need of accommodation in LaBelle. The Yacht club's name came up a few times so I tried contacting them to make a booking.
Received no replies on emails or the number provided so I opted to drive there and ask in person. Someone there gave me the owners number and I contacted him directly to arrange a meet up to discuss. Owner was friendly and assisted me with the questions I had. I tried to arrange an extended stay and that's where trouble started...
Seeing as my company needs to pay for the accommodation, I need to send them a quote/invoice beforehand so that they can pay on my behalf in advance. My card is then only used for incidentals. Owner insisted that my card needs to be on file for full amount + extras. After this hurdle, I said I will pay full amount with my card but will still need some documentation stating how much the charge will be so that my company can immediately transfer the funds to me in advance so that I am able to pay for the stay. The owner had all the dates that I needed room for and then still opted to give the rooms away while I waited for him to send me any document stating what I should pay.
This is very poor customer service, especially when the client I came to see, always uses your facilities. I will be sharing my experience with them as clearly you are too busy to be...
Read moreThis hotel is so quaint, big rooms with kitchens and front and back doors, almost all of which open right onto a deck a stone's throw away from the most picturesque riverside. Of course they have built a nice dock along it as well, yard, pretty little pool for swimming and your pets will truly be on vacation there also. A truly Outstanding couple run the place and are always available. They add so much character to the place I imagine folks returning just to see them. Not super fancy, but clean and neat and they have made the most of this spot. It's just this intriguing sense of history and comfort, and I felt safe letting my child run free there, which of course isn't always appropriate but at the river's edge he could, and without bothering other guests. PRICED RIGHT AND AMERICAN OWNED AS WELL!! Thanks to Ms. Lynne and Mr. Stan for adding so much to our stay- Call them to reserve your room and you'll have not...
