I really wanted to love this place, because I love supporting small family owned business, but there were so many problems the night we stayed. Firstly, our room (#7) was musty when we checked in at 5pm. I turned the AC on and it helped but within 10-15 minutes of it shutting off the mustiness was overwhelming. So we had to run the thermostat at 68 freeze all night. Secondly, the other reviews that mention âpaper thin wallsâ and loud traffic noises are 100% correct. We stayed on a Friday night and other guests were coming and going all night and it was all SO LOUD. Three other guests checked in (or came back after a night out) between 10:45 and 2am. The people in the room next to us left late evening and then showed back up at 1am drunk and loud. Once they quieted down & went to bed I could hear them clear as day through the wall snoring and farting. And lastly, the rooms themselves are ok. A little run down. The beds hurt my husbands back and the bathroom floor tile was cracked/lifted at the doorway. A trip hazard for sure. I think the self check in and no front desk employee at night leaves people to do whatever they want at all hours with very little regard for other guests. This place only has 12 rooms and like I said above, several other guests left and returned after midnight with loud door slamming, laughing and horn honking. Beware if you think youâre going to have a nice, quiet night in a small hotel in a small...
Read moreThis was definitely an experience different from most hotel stays. I was very pleased by the cooperation I received when I needed to change my booking just a couple of days before my stay. I arrived in the evening on a weeknight and my key and paperwork were on the front desk - no one was around, the front door was unlocked (small town America!). The room was large, with a definite farm theme. It would have been nice to have somewhere to put luggage (no luggage rack or shelf), as the only dresser top was taken up by the mini-fridge.. The heating/cooling worked well although, like most low-to-mid range hotels, it was noisy. I was gone most of the next day, and when I returned in the late afternoon, once again there was no one at the desk. Same in the morning. Over the course of my stay, I never saw another human being in the Inn. I don't know why, but housekeeping also didn't make their presence known - the room was not made up while I was gone. The bathroom is a good size but lighting is poor for shaving (all light is above and behind). There is a Casey's across the street for miscellaneous (unfortunately, they were not enforcing the statewide mask rule for customers or staff), and a very good diner just down the block. Would I stay here again? Absolutely - there is very little competition in the area and it was clean and...
Read moreVery clean and new. Employee was very nice. Room was large and the decor was cute. Very quiet also.
My main complaint is that we had no hot water to shower in the morning. I wound up showering in cold water (ever tried to shave your legs with goosebumps? Not fun.) And my SO just went without.
It is advertised as a "boutique" hotel. However it's lacking in amenities. Would have appreciated a darker colored cloth to use to wash my face. (Makeup stains and i feel bad.) The rooms are SO dim it was impossible to do my makeup. There is only 1 nightstand. Which was very awkward. Someone else mentioned the small tv's. And i agree. If they're going to be that small put them on the dresser not on the wall. I did appreciate that I could sign into my Hulu/Netflix account though.
Not really important but I personally hated the sheets (not cotton) and my SO hated the placement of the toilet paper holder. (Directly behind your left shoulder. It was odd.)
Someone else said it but it is near active train tracks. Didn't bother me but...
